A wonderful location with amazing scenery and hot bath looking up to the stars. Delicious dinner and very kind and friendly hosts. The best part of our holiday so far. Be prepared for snow in winter!.

The ryokan provides a hot spring bath and a lift. Rooms are spacious and feels like home. Private onsen baths are really nice. The location is bit far from train station and buses are not frequent. They provided shuttle transportation to and from train station free of cost. And Delicious Japanese dinner and breakfast.

Boasting open-air hot spring baths, a heated indoor pool and beautiful Japanese gardens, Senjukaku offers traditional Japanese-style accommodation that has a historic charm. Jigokudani Snow Monkey Park is a 15-minute drive away. Extremely close to the snow monkey park! Best place to stay if you want to be the first on the trail! The style of the hotel seemed very traditional, and the staff went above and beyond to help. The rooms were big and comfortable, and the private onsen we’re great. We ended up doing the dinner, which was a good experience!

The spacious rooms at Fuki no Mori Hotel come with private bathrooms with free toiletries. All rooms have traditional decors, a seating area and a balcony with views. Most rooms have tatami (woven-straw) flooring with futon bedding. The staff were exceptional catering to our every need and the food was unusual and fantastic. It felt like a very authentic experience. The onsen was fabulous

Bright rooms come with a traditional decor of tatami (woven-straw) floor, a low table with seating cushions and traditional futon bedding. They are fitted with a seating area, an LCD TV and a fridge. A safe and yukata robes are provided. Excellent all round. Lovely rooms, amazing onsens and the staff could not have been more welcoming or helpful. Food was exceptional too.

Bathroom is shared with other guests. This has marked a highlight of our trip, defining what traditionally lived Japanese hospitality feels like. We were deeply touched by the degree to which guests needs are quietly being catered to - repeatedly. We can highly recommend staying at this Ryokan, even if you don’t plan to do any of the numerous activities around. We will surely come back here for when the skiing seasons kicks off. We feel very thankful to have met these remarkable beings running the place.

The air-conditioned rooms feature tatami (woven-straw) floors and Japanese futon bedding. Each room comes with a TV, a fridge and an electric kettle with green tea bags. Japanese Yukata robes are provided and guests can enjoy views of the river or of the traditional stone-paved streets. Bathrooms and toilets are shared. Familiar Hostal, Akira-san y Yumi-san (the family that owns the ryokan) were extremely kind and helpful. They even drive me by car to the train station in a rainy day. Dinner and breakfast was very delicious, specially the dinner so I definitely recommend to give it a try. The onsen is nice and private (you need to appoint in a time slot before) so it doesn’t have any issues with tattoo. During my long journey through Japan I visited a lot of onsen and ryokans, and personally I think this was the best ryokan that I stayed. Totally recommended.
