Just 250 metres from Zenko-ji Temple, Matsuya Ryokan offers simple Japanese rooms with tatami-mat floors, a green-tea maker and an attached Western bathroom. The hotel features public baths. This was one of the best accommodations in Japan, super clean, extremely good location, welcoming and traditional as it gets.

Our host was super nice and friendly, our family had a utmost warm welcome and introduction of the house. Delighted to see a historical house so well taken care of and the cuisine was just exceptional. To keep it short, I just wish to have stay one more night!

Location was good, the staff were very helpful and welcoming, the property was immaculate, and the facilities were impressive. The room was incredible and super cozy and we loved retiring there at the end of the day. We also thoroughly enjoyed the onsen which I understand is one of the few in a Nozawaonsen Ryokan filled with naturally heated mineral water. We highly recommend and will be returning, hopefully.

Takimi Onsen Inn that only accepts one group per day se găsește în Nagiso, la 9,1 km de Otsumago, și oferă vedere la munte. The property is right in the nature, next to a river/waterfall. Beautiful and serene, the outdoor onsen is overlooking to river and autumn color leaves. The best view one can have. The owner picked us up in the station and sent us back to our hiking starting point the next day. He prepared sumptuous dinner and breakfast for us. We feel like visiting an old friend.

Boasting open-air hot spring baths, a heated indoor pool and beautiful Japanese gardens, Senjukaku offers traditional Japanese-style accommodation that has a historic charm. Great rooms, excellent food and service. Perfect location just around the corner of Snow Monkey Park. Free coffee at the lobby :-)

Hotel Fuki no Mori is a 20-minute ride from JR Nagiso Train Station on the hotel’s free shuttle. Guests can enjoy walks at the garden or the scenic areas surrounding the hotel. This hotel is a gem. Like a beautiful oasis it is set in a fabulous location. The rooms were large but basic but get clean and well thought out. The staff were very friendly and helpful. A free transfer was offered to and from Nagiso station which was a great help. The hotel is peaceful and feels so tranquil. The onsen baths were wonderful. But the best thing is the dinner and breakfast. What a wow!! Can’t wait to come back

This heritage building is well-kept, dignified, and an absolute delight. There was no need to leave the building to have a satisfying bath—indoor or outdoor. I loved the private bath, and the overall tradition of the ryokan. The staff was so accommodating of our late check-in, took care to deliver our luggage to the station while we go to the Snow Monkey Park, and were attentive to our needs.
