The staff were very helpful and recommended restaurants and hot springs (onsen) near the guesthouse. The room is pleasant and clean, and the breakfast is complete and satisfying. I am grateful to the staff for their exceptional service, especially for preparing a vegan menu and dessert for me. I highly recommend this guesthouse and look forward to returning.
Lovely, welcoming ryokan very close to the Nagasaka gondola and ski hire shops ( less than 5 min walk) with a delicious and varied breakfast served every morning. There is a very soothing onsen in the building. An easy walk down into the town centre and to the bus terminal. Excellent, good value place to stay in Nozawa Onsen
Comfortable room, in small family-run hotel, with views across the village to the mountains and snow Excellent hosts - very obliging. Excellent traditional breakfast and dinners (dinners are booked separately). Easy 10min walk to travellator..past onsens, shrines and traditional buildings.
Good location, close to onsens and 10 minute walk to the gondolas. Breakfast was amazing and served on time each morning. The staff were very friendly and made the stay very comfortable. The futons and tatami mats were comfy to sleep on and the rooms are kept fairly warm with heating. It can get cold however, over night but the bedding was very warm.
A lovely traditional Ryokan right in the middle of Nozawa main village a short walk from to the Yu-Road escalator which takes you straight up to the ski area. The hosts are lovely people and the traditional breakfast was delicious. It also has it's own onsen.
We enjoyed our stay at Sawa, a traditional family run accomodation. Communal toilets, bathroom, onsen and dining. It’s basic but a lovely experience. Staff are very kind and friendly. We had a family tatami room and slept on futons. Good location, short walk to the first chairlift (ski hire & lift passes all available in same area) short walk to restaurants and onsen.
Very friendly owner. The room is spacious and warm. Great location close to the Yu road. Liked how the western room offered a hybrid of a tatami mat area and western beds. There was even a yukata and tea set. Close to onsen nearby.
This is a ryokan style hotel. The room is spacious and the futon beds very comfortable. The property is right on the ski fields which is great if you want to take a break and warm up during the day. Best thing? They have their own private ( for guests only) Onsen . Fantastic ✔️
Traditional-style ryokan with very elegant look. Fresh tatami floors in our room and everything was well maintained or new. Friendly helpful staff. Good location - in the heart of the village and a short walk to Yu-road travelator to Hikage gondola (you can leave your ski gear overnight at the ski hire places there, so a bit of a walk to the ryokan is fine). Good in-house onsen, and several other public onsens nearby.
