Featuring a restaurant and a bar, Hotel Cajú is set in Funchal, less than 1 km from Almirante Reis Beach and a 6-minute walk from Marina do Funchal. I really couldn't fault this hotel. The staff were lovely, the location was great and the beds were super comfy. The shower was hot and powerful. We didn't use the little gym downstairs but we were able to refill our water bottle from inside. Breakfast was very nice - loved the Caju bowl in particular. The only small criticism was our toilet door didn't stay shut - it used to swing open

Offering an outdoor pool and spa centre, Castanheiro Boutique Hotel is set in Funchal, 500 metres from Marina do Funchal. Excellent service from the moment you enter the hotel. All staff extremely friendly. Nice rooftop pool and bar/lounge. Rooms have everything you need. Left before breakfast but got a breakfast box that had more food than I could eat. Free spa admission with a steam room and Turkish bath complimentary. Nice restaurant and ambiance throughout the hotel. Highly recommended.

Located in the hills surrounding Funchal, this 18th-century mansion is set in extensive botanical gardens with 600 different plant species. All rooms have balconies overlooking the gardens. Loved the garden, best ever breakfast, large room… I wish we stayed longer. We booked for 3 night, the hotel was unfortunately fully bookend for one night after that and we reserved another hotel for the rest of our stay in Madeira, but if going again we would never stay anywhere else! This is your hotel, small, friendly staff, great service, food, cocktails, magical garden and Colombo (the turtle that lives in the garden since 50ies)… surely a memorable stay.

Orquidea opens out on to an extra-large roof-top terrace, overlooking Funchal and the Atlantic Ocean. Good location - 10 minutes from the coastline, rooftop breakfast with a view. Nice staff! Paid parking at the doorstep - considering the city center is a plus

Featuring views of Funchal Bay, The Views Baia - Adults Only Hotel offers modern accommodation. Facilities include the Four Feelings Spa, 2 swimming pools, and a well-equipped gym. The views at the Views were truly magical - our room was facing the sea and thanks to that we did experience some breathtaking sunrises. Anyway, in terms of the accommodation itself, we have nothing to complain about. Big plus for the gym, the outdoor pool and the spa - we were spending our last days on the island here, so after so many hikes, a rest area was needed. Last but not least, I want to thank the friendly staff and for the sparkling wine on my birthday.

Beautiful hotel, room was very comfortable, restaurant exceptional, staff fantastic couldn't have been better.

I love the service! The girls on desk is lovely. One is from madeira… the others is from Colombia! Amazing service! The last guy I don’t like the style is not friendly

Great location easy to get in and out of with parking on site. Quiet street to be able to rest after long days of hiking. Nice terrace to relax with a book.

The location was ideal, very easy to get to the heart of the city and great service, Pedro met us at the place and was very kind and helpful, sharing excellent food suggestions with us and other advice regarding travel and things to do in Funchal. The place was also very clean and fully equipped
