The location is superb, the staff is exceptionally friendly, and the breakfast is delicious. To my surprise, my room surpassed the beauty depicted in the picture, which is a rare occurrence.

Offering an outdoor pool and spa centre, Castanheiro Boutique Hotel is set in Funchal, 500 metres from Marina do Funchal. Absolutely gorgeous place. Pictures don’t do justice to it. Beautiful rooms, amazing spa & indoor pool and a gorgeous roof top! The view from the bar/pool is breathtaking (especially at night). The breakfast buffet was perfect - variety of delicious options. Location couldn’t be better! One of my best stays in Funchal!

Set in a historic building of central Funchal, Monte Carlo features a large elevated terrace and roof-top pool overlooking the Atlantic Ocean. It is located only 800 metres from the Funchal Marina. I absolutely loved the location and the view was from heaven, overlooking all of the Funchal town to the Port below....I actually spent 11 nights here in total and will certainly be returning....lovely laid back atmosphere in the hotel and the staff were excellent....nothing was too much trouble, no complaints at all...the staff treated me like family and very obliging.....I'm sad to be leaving Madeira island tomorrow, such a happy holiday with beautiful memories....many thanks to the Management and Staff....cheers Colleen👍👍👍

Orquidea opens out on to an extra-large roof-top terrace, overlooking Funchal and the Atlantic Ocean. The hotel room was great, the view was beautiful and the breakfast was good also.
