Everything was perfect! The location was great, the room had everything including a fridge (which was a surprise) and a balcony big enough to take in the surroundings. The balcony was another nice surprise, I did not expect it, but I appreciated a lot! Breakfast was very good and healthy, good coffee and natural fruit juices. Staff is nice and supportive (thank you once again for expecting me in front of the hotel with my passport when I had to return from the airport). Thank you for a nice vacation!

Offering an outdoor pool and spa centre, Castanheiro Boutique Hotel is set in Funchal, 500 metres from Marina do Funchal. We loved everything about this hotel! From the arrival where we were greeted with champagne to the wonderful food and bars offered within the hotel to the OUTSTANDING spa staff, we could not have had a better trip. We visited during a 3 day storm so we had plenty of time to use all of the hotel amenities and could not recommend them more. The rooms were spacious, had balconies (for those rare, clear moments) and had modern, clean bathrooms with luxurious showers. While I did not eat at the restaurant for dinner, 6 of our other friends did and absolutely raved about the food. The quality and value, coupled with excellent staff made for an amazing trip. Only a 5-minute walk from so many things to do in Old town and a 10-minute cab ride to the more commercialized, shopping area of town. We would only stay at the Castanheiro hotel again if we return.

I have to say that we had the best hotel experience so far. The location is peaceful and perfect for relaxing and recharging. We were amazed by the beautiful gardens and pleasantly surprised to find a permanent hotel guest, Colombo – a tortoise living in the gardens. We miss this charming old fellow; he left a lasting impression on us 🥰 The staff took excellent care of us and went above and beyond to accommodate our dietary restrictions, making us feel very special throughout our stay. The room was spotless and comfortable, and we loved the heated pool area. The food was fantastic, especially the breakfast with its many delicious options. It’s hard to get back to normal life after that. A big shout out to all the hardworking staff! 🙌

Orquidea opnast út á sérstaklega stóra þakverönd með útsýni yfir Funchal og Atlantshafið. This is a great-value hotel, simple and a little old and worn (call is "classic"!), but comfortable; the location is perfect; the staff was very friendly and helpful (Ronnie was the best!); it was very cheap, the breakfast was decent with a beautiful view. Overall, we got more than we expected and more than we paid for. Thank you!

Það er staðsett í gróskumiklum, landslagshönnuðum görðum. Hið 5-stjörnu Quintinha São João býður upp á heilsulind og upphitaðar inni- og útisundlaugar. One of our best hotel experience so far. The staff was incredibly friendly and helpful, the hotel has a gorgeous park and a very calming athmosphere. Breakfast was extreamly good, lot of local food and fruits. We just loved it.

Of of the many places I have stayed, this takes the top price. Beautifull garden surrounding the Quinta, staff providing a personal, but yes proffesional service. "No" seems to be a unknown word. The kitchen serves excellent delicate dishes with a twist. I am really thrilled, that this kind of oasis still excist. I can´t wait to come back

Set in a historic building of central Funchal, Monte Carlo features a large elevated terrace and roof-top pool overlooking the Atlantic Ocean. It is located only 800 metres from the Funchal Marina. The whole atmosphere of the hotel was really amazing. It felt like we were living in the 30s as the floor was creacking on a lot of spots and thats what made it even more enjoyable. The sight from out window was beautiful, the room was really big and all was clean. The best of all of this was the staff and the service they provided. They were really generous and always helpful. After 2nights every time we came back to the hotel to sleel or to realx we felt like coming home bcs of the amazing people/staff and the service they provided.

Hotel GORDON er þægilega staðsett í Sao Pedro-hverfinu í Funchal, 1,3 km frá Almirante Reis-ströndinni, 3 km frá Gorgulho - Gavinas-ströndinni og 700 metra frá Marina do Funchal. Great location easy to get in and out of with parking on site. Quiet street to be able to rest after long days of hiking. Nice terrace to relax with a book.
