Hotel Quintinha São João se nahaja sredi urejenih vrtov, kratko vožnjo od mesta Funchal. Hotel s 5 zvezdicami ponuja elegantno opremljene sobe, portugalske jedi in 24-urno recepcijo. The setting and rooms are lovely … the bar area is a beautiful setting, breakfast and dinner is delicious BUT what puts this property over the top is the staff 5 star all the way!

Dvorec iz 18. stoletja se nahaja v hribih, ki obdajajo mesto Funchal, sredi prostranih botaničnih vrtov s 600 različnimi rastlinskimi vrstami. Vse sobe imajo balkon s pogledom na vrtove. The property is amazing. Exceptionally beautiful gardens - they are actually a botanical garden. The pool was very clean, sunbeds very comfortable. There is also a nice jacuzzi. Room was big and had a stunning view over the hills and city. Also very clean. Housekeeping was every day there. Breakfast is half a la carte and half buffet, in the gardens. A variety of cooked eggs and toasts. The most friendly and professional staff I encountered so far. I would mention only one moment when we had an issue with our rent a car company and could not get a car. The staff helped us find a car, had it delivered to and from hotel etc. The hotel also offers valet parking and complementary shuttle bus to and from the city at specific hours. There are also some buses that drive near the hotel and of course taxis.

The view is great ..staff and reception were very friendly and helpful...many thanks to Fabiana at the reception and Ruben at the restaurant..

Hotel Orquidea se nahaja na dvignjeni lokaciji, manj kot 200 m od muzeja Museu do Vinho in tropskih vrtov Monte Palace. The location is quite good and the rooms are spacious. The bathroom and the room were extremely clean and everything was well maintained. As I'm vegan I was not expecting the breakfast to acomodate me but in the end there were some things I could eat. Would be great having more labels on food to people with allergy or dietary requirements to feel more comfortable eating there, as well as it would be good having more vegan options.
