Renovated in 2018, the 4-star Hotel Alto Lido is located in Funchal’s prime area – Lido, 2.5 km from the city centre. It was amazing The view The room upgrade!

As part of the Vila Porto Mare resort, this hotel offers 4 restaurants, 6 bars and 5 swimming pools. Porto Mare features an extensive tropical garden on the Atlantic oceanfront. The staff were very friendly and helpful. A special thanks to our checkin staff, who were very accommodating and made us feel welcome from the first minute. Lots of swimming pools, lovely gardens and a good breakfast buffet. The room was very big, facing the ocean and with a great view. We also really enjoyed the cocktail "happy hours". The property, although somewhat old, was well taken care of. In contrast to other, larger hotels on the island, this one felt very cozy. It was the right size, with the right amount of people. The gardens definately gave a lovely charm to this property.

Les Suites at The Cliff Bay features a heated outdoor swimming pool and a garden in Funchal. Lovely hotel, excellent staff and great food. High quality of service in all areas of the hotel - reception, spa area, room cleaning, restaurant and pool. Special attention to every guest of the hotel.

The newly renovated 4-star Hotel Baía Azul is ideally situated a 4-minute walk from Funchal’s beachfront. Very nice hotel, well connected with test of Funchal. We started our 1 week holiday here The team was great, accommodate us earlier and upgraded us to a room with an ocean view. The spa is private but should be booked in advance. Fees might apply. Definitely recommend this hotel for your urban part of the trip

Set on a cliff in 10 acres of subtropical gardens overlooking the Atlantic, this 5-star resort features an oceanfront spa, 3 swimming pools and direct access to oceanic waters. The hotel itself is amazing and magical… loved all the hotel areas from the room to the lobby to thier beach club. Its a perfect destination to chill and relax and enjoy swimming. The room is cleaned every morning in addition the room service pass by late in the afternoon. I joined historical tour in the hotel which was great! In the breakfast the team were welcoming and the breakfast restaurant/area was nice. Loved the cliff sunbed area, it was the highlight of the trip! The sea was sooo refreshing not cold (Sep 2024).

Facing the beachfront, Pestana Vila Lido Madeira Ocean Hotel offers 5-star accommodation in Funchal and features a private beach area, restaurant and bar. Beautiful, spacious and very clean room with ocean view, we stayed here for our honeymoon and we are very happy with the choice- they even prepared a small surprise for us. Breakfast is diverse and delicious. Would come back here anytime.

Featuring panoramic views of Praia Formosa, the largest pebble beach in Madeira, the Golden Residence Hotel offers an outdoor pool, a wellness centre, and modern accommodation with private balconies. We loved the location of the hotel, very close to Funchal, bus station is just across the street, although we mainly walked and also rented a car to get to the other side of the island that’s not very frequently connected by bus. It was the perfect choice that we reserved a room in Golden residence hotel!!!! Everything was amazing, staff is always cleaning and taking care of the hotel, everybody is very welcoming and warm:) I would also like to say that if you are a breakfast lover, just book this hotel, because OH MY LORD!!! THE BREAKFAST IS PHENOMENAL!!!!:))) You have everything to choose from (even chia pudding for all of us healthy food freaks out there:)), all kinds of fruit, veggies, breads, yoghurt, milk, cereals, pancakes, eggs in like 4 ways, baked beans, baked tomatoes, different homemade cakes and jams, nuts, seeds,….you name it- they have it all!!! 😝So to sum up, we were indeed very very happy with our stay (WE WILL BE COMING BACK FOR SURE!) and very sad that after 15 days of staying there, we had to go back home:) So don’t think twice, just book this amazing hotel and you will guaranteed have the most amazing time in Madeira☺️

Located in the heart of Funchal’s Lido area, this 4-star hotel is a short walk from the city centre and boasts contemporary interiors and an outdoor pool with a terrace. The staff is very friendly, the location of the room is very good but most of all, the size and cleanest of the room! it was very spacious, and always super clean!
