Les Suites at The Cliff Bay features a heated outdoor swimming pool and a garden in Funchal. Everything was elegant and top quality, so much attention to detail that made our stay feel so luxurious. We had a suite with garden access, with a large veranda area. The whole suite was very spacious and very comfortable. Service and support was top notch! Breakfast views from the Avista restaurant are stunning. The food was excellent, and we would highly recommend having lunch and dinner there if time allows. We had access to the facilities of the Cliff Bay hotel next door, wish we had more time to make full use of everything on offer!

Impressive property, great location, friendly staff, delicious breakfast with great variety of options, complimentary shuttle to and from downtown Funchal. We thoroughly enjoyed every part of our stay!

Set on a cliff in 10 acres of subtropical gardens overlooking the Atlantic, this 5-star resort features an oceanfront spa, 3 swimming pools and direct access to oceanic waters. Cool, old world feel. Enjoyed high tea, breakfast every morning, the sea pool, the gardens. Staff were extremely attentive and thoughtful. One of our guests has celiacs and there were many gluten free options. Very central location to stay in with easy access to all parts of the island. Car service with access to a free lot was great. We came with an infant and they had a crib and baby soap/lotion and even tiny slippers and a robe for him. Would definitely stay here again.

Facing the beachfront, Pestana Vila Lido Madeira Ocean Hotel offers 5-star accommodation in Funchal and features a private beach area, restaurant and bar. Felt like royalty staying at this beautiful resort. Watched the sunrise every morning at breakfast. Staff were very nice and accommodating.

Situated atop a natural peninsula, The Cliff Bay provides panoramic Atlantic Ocean views and private sea access. We loved the hotel and found the staff extremely helpful,friendly and professional-especially on reception,in the Il Gallo d’Oro restaurant at breakfast and our waiter in the Avista restaurant at dinner. Very high quality of food and drinks.The pools,spa and gardens are all excellent. Our upper floor sea-facing room was lovely,although another time we would choose a Funchal Bay view which would be stunning or stay at the Suites section of the hotel so as to access their infinity pool area.
