The Windermere Hydro Hotel as it was in 1977 was my first employer as a 16 year old Apprentice Chef. Now living in Darwin Australia, I wanted my wife to experience the property, Windermere. & the Lake District. It was really Great to do this. The layout of the place has changed quite a bit, but they are keeping it nicely maintained. There is even an employee (Neil in Maintenance) still there since my time 47 years ago!!!! well done Neil and all the other staff that listened to my story.
Applegarth Villa Hotel is located in a beautiful and central location in Windermere. The suite ‘Great How’, which we stayed in was extremely luxurious, including a hot tub on the balcony, a SPA bath with TV, a lounge area with TV, a comfortable and cosy bedroom with TV, two balconies with views of the Windermere mountains and many other facilities. The restaurant and bar facilities were also excellent, with a wide selection of delicious ‘gluten free’ options for breakfast and dinner.
Windermere
This apartment is very tastefully done up, and is also newly renovated with appliances. But the real luxury is the way the host has anticipated your every need and ensured you do not lack for anything, from minor details like salt and cooking oil and coffee pods in the kitchen to major things. His guide to Windermere and the lake District is a treasure and by itself is worth making the booking for. This is the intelligent person's place of stay in the lake district!
This is a fantastic hotel. The facilities are exceptional, excellent location and the staff are first class.. Special mention to Lucas, a man of many talents, who goes above and beyond to ensure everything meets your needs. The rooms are perfect and the breakfast was very good. Parking on site was a bonus although both Windermere and Bowness are within walking distance. Having your own hot tub, steam room and jacuzzi bath in your room made this short stay special.
Have stayed at the Windermere Rooms on several occassions when it was the Regent Hotel and prefererd it as a hotel. The location is excellent, good parking in a prime location. Having to cross a busy road to go for breakfast wasn't ideal for somebody with mobility issues and it was raining, but the breakfast was good. Had a ground floor twin room which was spacious and accesssable. Food and service at the nearby Watershead Hotel was very good.
Station Lodge was ideally located in the center of Windermere close to shops, restaurants and amenities. Bowness on Windermere is a 30 minute walk which we done Saturday evening. Our room was clean and comfortable. Coffee/Tea facilities were available. We used the leisure facilities at choices health club which was an amazing perk to the hotel stay!! Amazing stay we cannot to book again Thanks Liam for your amazing customer service.

The location was fantastic - you could easily explore the whole area around Windermere, including the surrounding towns. The information book provided by the hotel also meant I discovered an amazing spot for sightseeing that I wouldn't otherwise have visited. The bathroom was superb and the soap and bath accessories smelt lovely! The breakfast was made to order and the staff were very helpful when serving it.
Windermere
The size of the property was excellent for our short stay. The bathrooms are particularly finished well. The bedrooms are cosy and the kitchen / lounge/ diner is a nice space to relax, eat, watch tv and play games etc. the apartment is an easy mile walk from bowness and a 5 min walk to Windermere centre. Perfect location for a choice of walks around the area too!
Windermere
Loved the hospitality of the receptionists, the room was well presented, all clean and felt cosy. Plus the bath is amazing, nice and relaxing, I could stay in it for hours. Especially was nice when I was recommended places to go, made the place feel more unique as the hotel welcomed guest to the community around Windermere, not just the hotel :)

Breakfast was great, staff super friendly. Room was very comfortable and clean. Hotel is around 10 min drive from Windermere (I wouldn't advise walking distance), parking is first come first serve basis. Check in was just picking your key up from the entrance and the little additions such a doggy poop bags and towels were such nice touches!!

We stayed at the Woodlands while traveling through the Lake District on our way to Scotland. The hotel is situated near downtown Windermere, and we were able to walk easily to the town center. The hotel is older, but clean and comfortable. The hotel had a great complimentary breakfast. Overall, it was a great stay at a good value.

Bowness-on-Windermere
Location for us was brilliant - short five minute walk into Bowness-on-Windermere, right on the lakeside with all the bird life - especially the swans! Apartment is part of a complex but we were not bothered by the other occupants and the on-site parking was great and easy to get into.
Nice room excellent view of lake Windermere, good food, but food and drink expensive, but as the Hotel is quite isolated they have a captive audience. All Staff very friendly and helpful. Special thanks to Morgan, an asset to the hotel.
The Hotel was a 30 minute walk away from Lake Windermere, and close to windermere village so access to the pubs and cafes was easy. A decent breakfast was put on every morning in the hotel and the rooms were relatively comfortable.
The best part is the location which is right accross from the beautiful lake Windermere. The decor and fittings of the hotel were nice and seemed new. Breakfast and dining facilities were quite good.
