Lakes Lodge is a family-run B&B set in a traditional 19th-century stone building situated in the centre of Windermere Village. The Lake District National Park and Lake Windermere are only a 5-minute drive from the hotel. All the rooms come with private bathroom, a TV, hairdryer, small refrigerator and tea/coffee making facilities. A full English breakfast is served in the cosy dining room and is cooked to order. Continental and vegetarian options are also available. Dinner can be reserved by the hotel at a recommended local restaurant. World of Beatrix Potter Attraction is only 2km from the hotel. Lake Windermere tours can be arranged in advance and operate from on site. Bowness and Windermere Lake are just 15 to 20 minutes walk from this B&B. Minibus sightseeing tours of the Lake District can be arranged, visiting Hill Top, Dove Cottage and Hawkshead where you can see Beatrix Potter's gallery and William Wordsworth's school.

Neighbourhood information

Windermere town is 1 mile from Lake Windermere with a regular bus service if too far to walk for the elderly and children. It is safe to wander around here even late at night but don't leave it too late; shops shut at around 1700 and restaurants at around 2100 although Chinese and Indian restaurants stay open later. The area is renowned for it's scenic beauty hence it being The Lake District National Park. At Lakes Lodge we run sightseeing tours everyday, numbers and weather permitting, which is not a problem during Spring, Summer and Autumn. The area has play areas for children and for adults and groups there are many opportunities to hike and walk around the lakes and fells(mountainous areas). There are plenty of photo stops for the keen photographer to take pictures of the scenery, wildlife and landscapes. In total tthere 16 large lakes, four of which operate boat cruises(a cruise on Derwentwater is included in some of Minibus sightseeing tours.)
