Everything was beyond fabulous, from walking into the hall where the fire was burning and welcoming us into the warmth, the quality of service and friendliness of the staff, the gorgeous bedroom and communal rooms, the delicious breakfast and the stunning views.
Pretty hamlet with 2 excellent pubs serving great food.

Easy walking area from the hamlet and access to more challenging walking not far away. Away from the tourist traps of the Lake District.
Would recommend eating at The Hare and Hounds for upmarket gastro pub food. The Masons Arms also serves good pub food. The Punchbowl at Crosthwaite is a 10 min drive away and is a very good restaurant

Bowland bridge a quiet little hamlet that is a short drive approx 6 miles into Windermere. It was within easy reach of several pubs where you could eat. Very good location for getting to all the places that you would like to sightsee. There was walks there but unfortunately I didn’t have the time to explore the area. We ate at the brown horse which took about 8 mins to drive to. A great friendly pub with good food. The Hare and hounds in Bowland Bridge was my favourite pub. The food was excellent and great service from very attentive staff.

I had a wonderful stay at this charming pub hotel. The large, spacious room was impressively clean, especially considering the age of the building, and the period-style décor was both tasteful and inviting. The bathroom was also beautifully maintained. The staff were lovely and provided impeccable service from arrival to checkout. Breakfast was a highlight, starting with hot coffee and fresh pastries, followed by a delicious full English. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a blend of comfort, character, and excellent hospitality.
Simon and Andrew were friendly and welcoming. The hotel was cosy and warm, and our room was beautifully decorated. We loved the fact the TV was small and tucked away in the corner. Will definitely be back!
Beautiful location, personal touches, room beyond our expectations. Hotel is off the beaten track, so quiet, scenic and idyllic. Great bar and restaurant. Breakfast was delicious. Lovely staff and owner.
