Guesthouse SHIGI is located in Nakatsugawa, 46 km from Gero Station, 7.7 km from Toson Memorial Museum, as well as 7.7 km from Magome Wakihonjin Museum. My favorite accommodation in Japan. The house is beautiful, spotless, peaceful.. I found myself wanting to live there haha. And the host is super friendly and kind. He recommended an awesome place to have dinner, he drove me and the other guest to Magome so we could do the trail, AND he got me an adaptor that I was missing because mine didn't work. I was very grateful.

Offering mountain views, Guesthouse Nedoko is an accommodation situated in Nakatsugawa, 200 metres from Magome Observatory and 100 metres from Magome Wakihonjin Museum. We loved our stay here before heading up to Tsumago. Cozy room with a writing desk overlooking a beautiful view of the mountains. Bathrooms and showers were very clean, nice breakfast/kitchen area.

Offering a garden and city view, Guesthouse Gifu SUAI is situated in Gifu, 29 km from Nagoya Castle and 30 km from Nagoya Station. Lovely stay. Impeccably clean!! Very friendly and helpful hosts. Super cheap bike rental. Great breakfast deal with the cafe. We liked walking around that area, really friendly locals. We had a really great stay! Fyi if you want to watch the fishing with the birds, you can cycle to it quite easily. When facing up river, if you go to the right hand side and walk down the pebble beach to the shore, you get an amazing view!!

A guest house nestled in the centre of Takayama, Hostel Fish in a River features private parking, free WiFi, a garden and shared lounge. Beautifully designed….Japanese functionality combined with thoughtfulness and warmth. Lovely comfortable room, good bed. Everything was immaculately clean. Incredibly friendly host, who took time to chat with me and make some recommendations.

Featuring free bikes, garden and views of mountain, Tajimi Guest House is located in Tajimi, 33 km from Oasis 21. A hot spring bath is available for guests. So kind and helpful couple who runs this unique architectural place - higly recommended for cultural travellers!

Located in Takayama, 1.3 km from Takayama Station and less than 1 km from the centre, Takayama Ninja House provides air-conditioned accommodation with free WiFi, and a shared lounge. Octavio was the best host that we had our entire trip. Really made us feel welcomed to his guest house and city. Went above and beyond to make the stay special - drink on arrival, drove us to the station upon leaving. Can’t say enough good words about our stay here.

Located in 15-minute bus ride from JR Takayama Station, Guest House & Cafe SOY is surrounded by lush greenery. Free WIFi is provided and free private parking is available on site. Tai-san and family were very hospitable, friendly, courteous, and generally excellent hosts. I'd recommend SOY, and would stay here when I come back.

Reopened after renovation in 2022, Auberge Hidanomori is situated in quiet hills, a 10-minute shuttle ride from JR Takayama Station. This is an unique house situated at the border of house area. It has a back yard like a forest. The window view is a picture of woods.

Well located in the centre of Takayama, Guesthouse Tomaru provides air-conditioned rooms with free WiFi and private parking. This 1-star guest house offers luggage storage space and bicycle parking. I love everything about it. The facilities, location and all. A very cute japanese house.
