A very authentic Royakan. The staff was incredibly friendly and helpful. The food was very good, and he service was excellent. Kanazawa was charming.

Located a 5-minute drive from JR Kanazawa Station, Ryokan Yamamuro offers Japanese-style guestrooms with free WiFi. Omicho Market and Kanazawa Castle Park can both be reached with a 5-minute walk. I totally enjoyed my stay at Ryokan Yamamuro! This is a family-run ryokan and the hosts, Bungo and his mother, are very kind and accomodating. We only stayed in Kanazawa for a day and Bungo was totally helpful on recommending where to visit and eat during our short trip (he gave very good recommendations!). He even helped us book a bus for our trip to Shirakawa-go and Takayama. And what’s great about the property doesn’t stop there. The ryokan itself is a very nice place to stay! It is located in the heart of Kanazawa, most tourist spots are located within 5-15 minutes walking distance. The place (lobby, room, dining room, etc.) is very clean, they even cleaned our luggage wheels before sending it to our room, you totally can see the effort they make to maintain the ryokan’s cleanliness. The room is very nice with direct access to indoor garden. This is by far the best hotel stay I had. Thank you for hosting us.

Boasting a 200-year history, Motoyu Ishiya features classic architecture, an original Noh stage and a garden. Motoyu Ishiya is a 230 year old hotel just outside of the historic city of Kanazawa. The property itself is stunning, the photos do not do this place justice. It is a very spiritual place where you can’t help but feel at peace. The staff are exceptional and accommodate English speakers to the best of their ability. The meals included are very traditional and require an open-mindedness from foreigners. I look forward to returning in the future.

The dinner was a fantastic experience in itself. The staff was exceptional and made everything thing to make us feel welcome. They went above and beyond and made for a fantastic experience, as we were travelling with a 18 month old!
