We loved everything about Kurumiya. The character, the craftsmanship, lovely spacious room with comfy beds and onsen bath, very friendly and attentive hosts. Nothing was too much trouble for them. My husband liked the Netflix. Beautiful Japanese breakfast which was different every day. The location was good too. Near Higashi Chaya and Omicron markets with Machi-Nori cycle share point right across the road and buses nearby.

Wow, this place is truly amazing and went above and beyond to make our stay in Kanazawa perfect. First, the location is in the historic Higashi Chaya District, allowing you to stay in an area with incredible character and beauty. It is within walking distance to other famous sites in the city including Kanazawa Castle, Kenroku-en, and Omicho Market. The facilities are amazing--beautifully maintained and restored, with both historic character and modern amenities. We truly appreciated the fact that a washer/dryer combo was in the room and there was washing detergent available as well. The very modern bathroom made us feel like we were at a spa. I loved the fact that the sleeping area was partitioned off from the dining room/kitchenette area. The futon beds were sooooo comfortable. The kitchenette area was well stocked with supplies including a microwave and induction stove for those who wanted to make something themselves. The morning breakfast was also phenomenal and probably the biggest surprise of our stay. It was absolutely delicious and one of our favorite meals during the trip. We loved the pastries and even took a detour in our site seeing day to visit the bakery they came from as we were so impressed with pastries served during breakfast. But what really sets Utaimachi apart was the INCREDIBLE staff. From check in to check out, each team member went out of their way to make sure we had a great stay and were comfortable. They gave us wonderful advice for getting around the city and helped us ship our luggage to our next hotel location. They truly went above and beyond to make our journey to and from Kanazawa smooth and stress free. Thank you so much Utaimachi for a wonderful stay and for all of your generous hospitality!

Beautiful and well equipped house that made our stay so delightful. It is spacious for my family of 4. Comes with washing machine (no dryer) but sufficient hangers and drying rack. There is a toaster and microwave oven. Convenient location, with easy access to the bus stop and shops. Owner is responsive to our questions and very helpful.

We arrived late on the day we checked in and they were super accommodating. I’ve travelled a lot around the world and I’ve never stayed in a place so beautiful. The room was spectacular: it was very large with divisions separating each room, super well maintained, very warm and comfortable as we were staying in the winter, huge private garden, and the private onsen was a highlight. The staff were lovely and kind. The Japanese breakfasts were delicious. Would highly recommend to anyone who comes to Kanazawa!

One of our favourite stays in Japan! Beautiful house and room. The host family was so kind, friendly and helpful in recommending dinner and helping make reservations, and suggesting sites around Kanazawa.

Boasting a 200-year history, Motoyu Ishiya features classic architecture, an original Noh stage and a garden. This place was 12/10. Absolutely amazing experience as soon as you step through the front door. The rooms were traditional and cosy. The onsen was glorious and still can’t get over the dinner/breakfast. So glad we booked Motoyu Ishiya and can’t wait to return.

The room was so spacious, clea, quiet and well taken care of. The hosts were polite, check in and out was easy! Location was amazing a few streets away from Higashichaya. It was a pleasure staying here and would definitely return in the future.

Matsusaki ligger 20 minutters kørsel fra JR Matsuto Station og har indendørs og udendørs varme kilder samt en japansk have ved vandet. All the facilities were great. The dinner was a fantastic experience in itself. The staff was exceptional and made everything thing to make us feel welcome. They went above and beyond and made for a fantastic experience, as we were travelling with a 18 month old!
