We stayed in a slightly remote house which we really loved. Large windows in the living area looking over the rocky seashore made for a serene morning coffee scene. We also really enjoyed the 5 course meal served in the restaurant in the lighthouse.

Very sturdy and watertight double door to the deck, tested by the strong winds and rain that evening. Wonderful dinner and breakfast. Nice menu with smoked fish selections for bkfst and extra attentive staff. Ample free parking.

The refurbished Ship Inn is a boutique hotel located in the heart of Galloway. Although this was a very last minute, one night only booking, and we didn't get to experience the full package right down to breakfast or dinner, the hotel 150% met our expectations. Room was spacious, clean with modern, also very clean bathroom. Couldn't have asked for better. Will definitely book The Ship Inn again should we find ourselves in the area.

Newton Stewart
My friend and I were on a bike tour around Dumfries and Galloway. The hotel is perfectly situated for access the the forrest park and (although we were not mountain biking this time) close to Kirroughtree bike park. The restaurant food was perfect for two ravenous cyclists; tasty and good value and serve good beer. I thought the accommodation was particularly good value. They also have a safe place to store bikes which was also perfect for us.
Comfortable accommodation, breakfast set up very good, with optional porridge (which was delicious) followed by a buffet style Scottish breakfast, plus toast, cereals, fruit, yogurt etc. Lovely building and in accesssible area for access to Dumfries or to explore Dumfries and Galloway further. The staff we met were very helpful and friendly and there was plenty of parking on site.
Good quality comfortable accommodation, friendly helpful staff, and with a bar and serving great food and a great Scottish breakfast cooked to order. what more could you ask for in a stay. We were playing golf in Dumfries and Galloway and the hotel is well located to act as a base for a number of top courses in the area.

Lovely apartment, immaculately clean, really comfortable, great facilities, friendly and helpful hosts. Right opposite the friendly Blue Bell Inn. Good base for the Solway coast and wider Dumfries and Galloway.

The hotel was a great base for exploring the Dumfries and Galloway area, and a great place to rest and recuperate if you have been doing a lot of travelling. The dinner menu was excellent.

Everything was good with our stay, from the price of the room, the location, the staff were friendly and helpful. The room was very clean and comfortable, there was a fridge in our room which had milk, water and coke in. Tea and coffee with biscuits. There was also a few chocolate sweets. Bathroom was clean shower nice and hot, bathrobes if you wanted them. We had a meal and drinks which was very nice. The breakfast was hot and delicious. So it's 10 out 10 from us. We will definitely be back.
Very quiet location. Comfortable bed. It was perfect for overnight stay before going south. Veggie burger was great, but chips not so nice. Pleasant staff & safe onside parking. Fabulous shops @ the outlet in Gretna very close by.the hotel

It was a long day driving from London. I reached the mill forge after 5 PM and I picked up the key from the bar as the reception was already closed. The 2 ladies there are very polite and kind and we ordered a dinner as well. I liked the location and facilities and I took nice photos Breakfast is good as well although not much options there but Mr. Richard was very nice and helped us a lot.
Every thing about stay was spot on
Caravan was spotless and beds very comfortable (also loved the “is it me you’re looking for” gift of essentials that I did actually forget to bring with me! Van heats up really quick and everything was easy to use (I always struggle with gas appliances but these worked first time every time) bedding was provided but no towels. Caravan park itself if great, very clean, everyone is pleasant and happy to help, there’s a play park (well maintained) a bar (reasonably priced drinks and bar snacks and an arcade attached to it for the kids and big kids) and shop/reception (where you check in, the shop part is pretty basic, more for “oh I forgot xyz” so I’d pop to a supermarket for all your bits) within walking distance (7mins to be precise) of an inn for all day food and drinks, there’s fields surrounding caravan park with sheep, goats and horses, there’s rabbits everywhere (daughter was obsessed with those and spent hours looking for and counting them) 20-30 mins drive and you can go to dalscone park or Mabie farm park.

What an amazing house! Everything was perfect. The four bedrooms were comfortable and suited our group to a T. Having the front Living Room separate was good so that the kids could be watching TV away from the adults. Tracey was in contact with us and all instructions were very clear. The kids love the trampoline and were very disappointed that we had absolutely no time to go in the Jacuzzi. They said they’d come back to Gretna just to stay in that house!
