Loved it here all the pubs and hotel I went to everyone was very friendly, the local shops had a good variety of items. One shop called the Curiosity shop is a little gem I could spend all day there and still not see everything. Being a solo traveller I did feel like safe here,, lots of walking areas, so nice not using my car the whole time.

A lovely little village, but be aware it only takes about 15 minutes to walk around! Many of the little shops were closed (It was October!), but you need to be aware. We have gone before in Summer and it's much more lively!

A beautiful little village that is so well looked after by the locals Loved the doggy poo bags that were hanging around the village so nobody had any excuse for not cleaning up after their dog. Also the children’s artwork on the lamposts

    A small friendly village.

A small friendly village. A visit like most places is weather dependant to see it at its best. Ideal for taking your dog for a good walk. Places are dog friendly with water bowls placed at different locations. Well looked after colourful flower displays along the seafront. Great views if you manage the climb to the top of the cliff. Not a great deal of shops to browse which is to be expected in a small village. A lovely place to relax and eat good food.

Not much in the way of facilities such as grocery shops, cash machine, petrol station. Lovely little harbour with magnificent sea views from the top of the cliffs. Great for walkers and golfers. Especially good on a sunny day.

The hotel windows in the bedroom, lounge and restaurant made the most of beautiful sights of the village and the harbour. Our room was spacious , we could sit and relax in the arm chairs enjoying the views from the bay window. The meals were delicious and well cooked and presented. The staff were friendly and looked after all guests we felt very welcomed. Hats of to all the professionalism of the staff, on our first night Portpatrick had a power cut , dinner did not start until 6.30pm and still ran like clockwork.

Great view of Portpatrick from our room. Weather was dismal on our last day but made for great viewing of the waves. Grand hotel, a little dated but very clean & had everything needed. Great cooked breakfast. Dog friendly. Easy walk down to the port. Well recommend the walk through town and up to the castle. Very picturesque little harbour town.
