Cally Palace Hotel & Golf Course, hotel in Gatehouse of Fleet

Originally an 18th century mansion, Cally Palace is now a sophisticated golf hotel just 48 minutes’ drive from the market town of Dumfries.

We only found out about hot alternatives such as poached eggs & porridge to the standard hot buffet breakfast from a guest. This was not highlighted when breakfast explained to us on the first morning giving the impression the hotel did it want u to know.

CBM Leisure break, hotel in Gatehouse of Fleet

CBM Leisure break is situated in Gatehouse of Fleet. Free WiFi is available throughout the property and Dumfries and Galloway Golf Club is 49 km away.

The property couldn't be better located placed - opposite a Spar, fab cafe and entrances to walks. Gatehouse of Fleet is a lovely town with more lovely restaurants/cafes than I imagined. Potential visitors should note that the property has a large dual-aspect living/reception room with TV, fireplace and comfy seating which is not shown in the photos.

We stayed in laggan for a wedding,we booked a sea view snug and I can't fault it,it was beautiful, the wedding was in GGs yard and I must say that this is a terrific venue for a wedding. The gather restaurant serves great food and I couldn't fault the staff as they were very welcoming and friendly, the whole experience we had at laggan was excellent, there is also a small beautiful beach about a 5minute drive from laggan complex which is definitely worth a visit,

Entrance to grounds is through a Gatehouse,we couldn't see any signage to indicate direction to hotel on our visit. Hotel itself is very elegant with lovely interiors with period furniture and ornate ceilings. Extensive garden grounds with lake and golf course. Rooms huge . Whole hotel was very well decorated as far as I could see.

Gatehouse of Fleet is my favourite holiday break.

Gatehouse of Fleet is my favourite holiday break. Galloway lodge serves fantastic coffee and food. Gatehouse has scenic and relaxing walks. Cream of Galloway is a must to visit for walks, activities and delicious ice cream. Friendly town with lovely shops - Bluebell Interior Designs and Apothecally are great for ideas.

Comfortable and welcoming cottage with everything we needed.

Comfortable and welcoming cottage with everything we needed. We loved the space, and the decor which included a lit Christmas Tree, and the kitchen was well-appointed and had a dishwasher too. The welcome pack had delicious cookies along with excellent tea, coffee, hot chocolate, and milk. The rooms were beautiful and comfortable...everything was spotless. We had easy walking access to local shops and delicious food choices. Our hostess was helpful and available...she provided a well-written book to answer our questions. We highly recommend this cottage and would welcome a return someday!

The village is very pretty and well healed.

The village is very pretty and well healed. Properties are well looked after and freshly painted. The small and varied shops and visitor centre was interesting. Well worth a stop and pleasant walking to be had here for all the family including your four legged friends.

We have stayed at the Cally Palace Hotel before and love every aspect of it. The building and its location are absolutely beautiful and the food is superb. Our room was large and spotless with very comfortable beds and plenty of hot water. The hotel is traditional in style with a faded, genteel interior - which one would expect for a building of this period. Lovely swimming pool is an added bonus. We will definitely return.

Keys were in an obvious place, and owner directed us to property. Profile of this property doesn't do it justice in images. Amazing unspoiled views for the cottage out across the hills. Quiet and tranquil and outstanding super fast wifi. Spotlessly clean, and very well equipped. Walks straight from property out onto open fields and only 10 mins walk down hill to Gatehouse of Fleet. 10/10 on all fronts
