Lovely self-catering apartment in city centre, hotel in Dumfries

Offering a garden and garden view, Lovely self-catering apartment in city centre is located in Dumfries, 1.7 km from Dumfries and County Golf Club and 13 km from Caerlaverock Castle.

The aparment was warm and clean and nice to stay at. The hosts has some lovely touches - like tea, coffee, milk, sugar, bread and agges available. There is a bath (as well as a shower) and it was lovely to have a warm bath given the nip in the air outside. There is an adequate collection of crockery and cooking implements. The location is great. Recommended for anyone who is looking for a self catering break.

Plenty of places to eat - went to Granary (Belhaven, Green King) twice and Bruno's (Italian) once. River running through Dumfries is great. Lots of places nearby to visit - I went to Caerlaverock Castle, RSPB Mersehead, Threave House & Gardens. Good train service to Carlisle and beyond (and great cafe at station). Dumfries Baptist Church - warm welcome and impressive modern building.

We stayed in Moffat which is in the county of Dumfriesshire. A great place to visit and close to the town of Dumfries. Moffat is an old market town with a number of interesting shops and a range of lovely hotels, bars and restaurants. The local museum is well worth a visit.

Dumfries was a lot larger than I expected. We were only there for one night. We did a mini pub crawl with friends. There are some interesting pubs in Dumfries with a lot of history and stories to tell. We stayed at a beautiful BnB and caught the train to Glasgow the next morning. We would love to go back again.

A must for Robert Burns fans, a great place to visit, and for adventurous types it's not far from the beautiful Solway Firth coastline. Plenty eating places at reasonable prices. I would recommend the Stove cafe located in the centre of the town for a lite bite.

We were only there for one night, but we’re recommended the Globe for a meal, and it didn’t disappoint, on the way we dropped in at the Annan distillery well worth the £25 tour and the driver gets his or her tasting pack to take away with them.

Arrived after having been at work earlier that day, followed by longish train journey from Manchester, so great to get off the train at Dumfries, cross a road and arrive at hotel in less than a minute. Easy to check in and out. Room in good location within hotel. Comfortable room, provision of tea/coffee, plenty of sockets to charge phone. Good quality shower and bathroom.

Lovely hotel in a beautiful old house with very nice grounds near Dumfries. The staff members were really friendly and helpful and our room was excellent: big and clean. We had an evening meal at the restaurant, which was excellent, as was the breakfast the following morning.

I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at the Dumfries villa. The bed was very comfy, the breakfast was lovely, and the location is great (situated near the train station - but can’t hear the trains, and a 5min walk away from town centre).
