Attractively set in Kyoto, THE GENERAL KYOTO Shijou Shinmachi has an American breakfast and free WiFi throughout the property. This 4-star hotel offers room service and a 24-hour front desk. My partner and I stayed for 4 nights at this place while we were in Kyoto, and needless to say we loved it. The location was perfect, just a couple minutes to places that we frequent (Nishiki market, Weekenders coffee), and proximity to train stations wasn't bad either. The staff were great and very helpful when we needed something. We have nothing but good comments, and would very much like to come back again soon :)

Located in Kyoto, a 9-minute walk from Gion Shijo Station, Gion Elite Terrace provides accommodations with a shared lounge, private parking, a terrace and a restaurant. We loved our stay at Gion Elite Terrace. It's perfectly located within walking distance from the train station, restaurants, bars and many of the sites we wanted to visit in Kyoto. It's located on a quite and quaint street. The rooms were spacious, clean and the beds were very comfortable. We loved the coffee bar in the lobby. The staff helped us with restaurant recommendations and reservations. I also love that they are an eco-friendly hotel. I will recommend this hotel to all of our friends planning to visit Kyoto.

Great Location, very close to the train station. There are many nice restaurants around the hotel. It's also close to China Town

Featuring 3-star accommodations, Beppu Hatto Onyado Nono Beppu is located in Beppu, 13 miles from Oita Bank Dome and a 6-minute walk from Beppu Station. Comfortable but with very tiny rooms. Unusual experience {which we liked} for a big hotel is that you must not wear shoes at any place in the hotel. All floors are carpeted with tatami mats, which are beautiful, but since this hotel caters a lot to tour groups, the front doors become jammed when a bus comes in and people must remove their shoes. Tour groups also bottleneck at the elevators and restaurant. Breakfasts looked great, but we wouldn't go when tours were lined up. Excellent coffee always available. Outdoor onsen was tiny (maybe 3 meters by 3 meters). Indoor onsen was large enough, but not hot enough. Great location with lots of restaurants nearby. Fantastic English-speaking staff. Dormy's HR Dept know their stuff. We'd stay again, despite the small rooms and small onsen. Visit the very old downtown onsen, Takegawara, , a must, and the seafront walk, Good bakery (Mermaid) at the train station. Liveely downtown area.
