Bath facilities had plenty of hot water and the free toiletries were a plus!, once again APA hotels are a perfect selection for a smart traveler! APA Hotel Nishi Shinjuku Gochome Eki Tower was a good choice you want to be in a quiet residential part of Tokyo!, but still this location was just as good and plenty of restaurants to choose from even a smoking cafe was withing walking distance called The Smokist Coffee

FAQs about hotels in Tokyo

See It to Believe It!

The capital of Japan, Tokyo is a vast, teeming metropolis nestled between mountains and Tokyo Bay. It’s so huge that you’ll have to come to grips with public transport and maybe even experience being pushed onto a train. Yes, it does actually happen!

Get your bearings by ascending the Tokyo World Trade Center near the waterfront, and savor the fantastic views taking in the red-and-white Tokyo Tower and Shinkuju’s skyscrapers. North is Ueno, home to the best museums (including the Tokyo National Museum) and a large park bursting with cherry blossom in spring.

Equally tranquil are the Chiyoda Imperial Palace and Gardens, surrounded by water. Also in gardens is the Meiji Jingu Shinto shrine in Shibuya, a youthful district where neon abounds.

For more traditional Japanese culture, head to Asakusa whose Sensō-ji Buddhist temple is Tokyo’s oldest temple. Outdoor markets sell a variety of wares, though shopping in Tokyo is, of course, fantastic wherever you go.

Whether you stay in a Japanese ryokan, luxury Tokyo hotel or a hostel, don’t fly out of Tokyo Narita Airport or Haneda Airport without having tried sushi. Another Japanese institution is the sento (public bath) and onsen (hot springs bath) – a must try. Also incredibly popular are Tokyo Disneyland and Tokyo DisneySea, Asia’s 2 most visited theme parks.

Tokyo is nice but was over-stimulating for me. It reminded me of my time in Manhattan. I’m older now and do not drink so I would most likely enjoy it more if that weren’t the case. Fun city with lots to see. Clean and safe.

    There is lots to see.

There is lots to see. The teahouse in the Gyong Park is worth a visit. The subways, sidewalks, trains and musea are just jammed all the time and you have to tolerate that which I would not want to do again.

When you go to Japan, don't forget to go to Shibuya and shop at Don Quijote, some people may say it's expensive, but it's quite complete. No need to go to several stores to find something. For food, you can try Monggo Moro Restaurant in Shinjuku City, which is suitable for Indonesian tastes. If you want to find premium goods at low prices, you can check at the Mitsui Factory Outlet in Kisarazu. During the trip to Kisarazu, we can see an amazing underwater tunnel and there is a resting place to see the sea view. Japan is amazing, I hope to visit there again.

The hotel was modern and stylish, and the staff were friendly. The rooms were an ok size for Tokyo and felt like a modern take on the traditional Japanese style (the mattress was on the ground so please bear this in mind if you have accessibility issues). The bathroom was small but had everything you needed. There was a nice restaurant on the ground floor of the hotel but we didn’t eat there. The hotel was a 5 min walk from the Yamanote line which has key stops including Tokyo station, Ueno, Shinjuku and Shibuya.

I actually liked the location as it's well located by the metro station and it's midway between Shibuya/Shinjuku to the west and Asakusa to the north east. The area around the hotel is quiet and corporate but if you walk around you will discover a fair few bars/restaurants about 10 minutes away. Rooms were spotless and had a Japanese style bath and coffee capsules were provided everyday. The rooftop onsen was a welcome touch

My husband and I booked this hotel for our honeymoon. Location was excellent and very near to Nihonbashi metro station as well as Tokyo station, making it convenient to transport our luggages to take the Shinkansen and Narita express. There were a few convenience stores nearby thus is was easy buy foods/snacks for breakfast/supper. As a nice gesture, they even provided complimentary sparkling sake as we were on our honeymoon!
