The location was great and the room was nice and clean. Even though it is in a great busy location in the city the room was quiet and peaceful. Good access to many areas of the city either by walking or public transit.

The shopping in Kyoto was great. Loved wandering around the market areas and eating in local food venues. Kyoto is so clean. I did not see any graffiti or rubbish anywhere. I felt safe walking around on my own, even at night.

I left Kyoto not really knowing what I felt about it.
I left Kyoto not really knowing what I felt about it. It was overwhelming in one sense but enlightening and buzzy - but I am not sure if I would go back. I used it as my base for Osaka as well travelling between the two on 2 different days and in hindsight this was the right choice, not using Osaka as my base.

Kyoto has apparently become more crowded and NYE was not the best time to be there, but we loved this city. Don’t miss Arashiyama and The Monkey park and the Otagi Nenbutsu-ji Temple. The bamboo forest was less impressive and too crowded. Also don’t miss the Fushimi Inari Temple. A lot to see in and around Kyoto.

Kyoto is one of the most beautiful places I have ever visited. The old city, the temples and shrines, the restaurants and the people, they are all amazing. When you walk around you can feel the Japanese culture enter through all your skin pores. My top like: the gardens. You can see all the care and respect put into them.
We only stayed for 2 days, one night, which I found is a bit short of a stay for this place. I recommend spending more days.
Kyoto is a must-visit if you go to Japan.

We have been to Kyoto many times over twenty years and so avoided the main tourist spots. Even so, we were overwhelmed by the number of tourists of which we were two.
Our time in Pontocho was the highlight of our visit as we can speak some Japanese and the restaurant and bar staff were so friendly and welcoming and the food was amazing.

This is our 2nd trip to Kyoto and won’t be our last.
This is our 2nd trip to Kyoto and won’t be our last. It can be as touristy as you want or as peaceful as you want. Exploring the side alleys with the small streams, or walking along the river - food, shopping, culture, history, sights, nightlife, temples… it’s all there. Love this city.

I booked a single room with shared bathroom. The room was very small but it was no surprise for Japan :) The restroom was very clean, the staff friendly, the breakfast was offered in a café nearby, just 30 steps from the hotel. It might not be the best one in town, but sufficient to start the day with energy :) The hotel is quiet and yet in a good position, not so far from Gion, has shopping facilities not far away and is at walking distance from the station (more or less 20 minutes or a subway stop)
Excellent location, easily accessible by bus. The staff at the ryokan went above and beyond to assist us, including helping with Kuroneko Yamato shipping documents and even contacting the receiving hotel on our behalf. Their English was great, and they were incredibly helpful with everything we needed. The cleanliness of the ryokan was impeccable. Initially, I was hesitant about sleeping on a tatami mat, but it turned out to be the best sleep I've ever had!"
I had a comfortable stay in this hotel. Check in and check out was a breeze. But the best part is the location. Walking distance to downtown Kyoto - Nishiki Market, Pontocho Alley, Gion District are few minutes walk away. Also near train stations. The hotel is tucked in an alley so it is quiet but at the same time near the main street which is lined with shops and restaurants.
The staff here speaks good English. The location is not too far from the station and not too close to the crowd. It is chill and relax in the area. There is a Lawson in front of the hotel. The tea bag that they provide in the lobby is one of the best tea that I ever had.
Great location, amazing amenities, kind staff, and the onsen was so relaxing. The best capsule hotel you could stay at - felt like a 5 star hotel. Just so many thoughtful touches and the staff go above and beyond.
