We loved everything about this stay. The beds were comfortable, the room was nice and spacious, the couch was nice to relax on. I also loved that there was a closet with drawers in the room so we could unpack and be comfortable. The room was designed very well. The location was great and the amenities provide were great. This was the best stay during our 2 week adventure at 4 other properties in other areas.

Basically everything was incredible. All aspects of our stay felt very luxurious. They have a private hot spring bath for general use of all the guests.

We had a wonderful stay at the Kyoto Riverview House Kyoraku. The clean room was spacious, with the described amenities, along with a balcony to sit and view the river. The location was within walking distance to the station, Nishiki market, local restaurants, and the local conveniece stores. The pleasant staff spoke English well and helped with both a restaurant reservation and arranging for shipping luggage to our next hotel. Overall, we thoroughly enjoyed our time and highly recommend the Kyoto Riverview House Kyoraku.

The closest bus stop to Bamboo forest and Gion is less than 5-min walk (flat fare for the bus, 230 jpy pp. [July 2024] paid to the driver before getting off regardless of distance)
The main road close to the hotel was a good spot for Gion matsuri parade.

Location, very near Nishiki Market and main shopping street. It is a very well thought out place. They have separate bathrooms for male & female. The rooms and bathrooms are very clean. The rooms might be small but the hotel has lots of amenities, PJs for guests, slippers, amenities in bathrooms, bags for towels in the room. The beds are quite spacious and come with powerpoints next to it.
Our kids loved it. Great for exploring Kyoto.
The hotel staff was super friendly and allowed us to leave our bags at the hotel before our check in time, so we were able to explore Kyoto upon arrival. The room was clean and has everything you need for a nice stay. They also have several options for breakfast and they were all yummy, so you don't get tired of eating the same thing! The hotel is close to the train station and within walking distance of the Nishiki Market and a lot of stores. I really enjoyed staying here and would recommend it to anyone!
Perfect location next to downtown and Nishiki Market. A very ice hotel room that was very large, especially for hotel rooms in Japan. Staff was polite and very helpful making plans and restaurant reservations. They also gave our kids birthday presents!
We had a great stay at Saku Kyoto! The staff were very welcoming and helpful. We especially enjoyed the welcoming tea ceremony and complimentary sake. The accomodation was located in a convenient location, close to transit, laundry, restaurants, and just a short walk from nishiki market. This was our favorite accomodation out of the places we stayed in Japan. Highly recommended!
We loved our stay at the Kanra hotel. Breakfast was great, they have both western and japanese buffet menu. Kids enjoyed the stay a lot. easy access to Shijo dori and NIshiki market. Lots of temples nearby. Just walk a little and you can see authentic japanese style living away from the facade of touristy show cases that you see with most hotel locations.

Perfect hotel. The staff is great. Easy walking distance to the subway and Nishiki Market. Large room compared to the Japanese standard. Large bathroom, comfortable beds, and the lounge is phenomenal.
Close to points of interest in Kyoto, Gion, Hirashiyama, temples, river, restaurants, shopping, Nishiki market, etc. Bus and subway lines easy access. First rate and clean facility even by Japanese standard, including the onsen. Rooftop view, foot bath, well stocked fridge wjrb drinks, excellent staff (some English speaking), treated well. Kind of a boutique hotel.
