A historical place. You don't go here to have fun, but to learn about the history and grow your mindset.
It felt really touching to be there. It's obviously different for everyone, but I felt really vulnerable there and could really feel the triadic history of Hiroshima.
On the other hand, seeing Hiroshimas recovery in just 80 years is inspiring, they've been doing an amazing job rebuilding the city, witch is truly inspiring.
I could really recommend a trip to Hiroshima, it has such a important message. It might feel tough to be there, but you'll learn so much and broaden your mindset.

I actually felt a bit reluctant to go to Hiroshima when my spouse suggested it - I thought it was a bit voyeristic and bad-taste. However, the locals really encourage people to visit so we can all learn from past mistakes and hopefully not repeat. Our visit, including a cycle tour and museum visit, was very informative, enlightening, and sobering. The locals are very friendly and Hiroshima is a beautiful city worth spending a few days exploring.

With a population of just over 1 million people we found Hiroshima a really good place to visit. We stayed at the Right Royal a slightly dated but huge hotel with great views and in a really good spot close to Peace park, the art garlleryand to the city centre. About 1200 Yen trip from the Hiroshima train station. Room was really big compared to the other hotels we stayed at. highly recommended.

Everyone goes for the Hiroshima bombing museum and dome and you absolutely should do this. But, Hiroshima has an excellent food and bar scene - check it out... Go to that bar on the 5th floor, eat that 'Hiroshima-style' dish, follow that laneway to the bench only eatery. You won't regret it.

Great atmosphere to town (but still sobering mindful of its history). We felt a better and more relaxed vibe in Hiroshima (population c.1.5million) versus Tokyo 34million.
Day trip to Miyajima Island recommended (we took boat to & from Peace Park dock).

I enjoyed my trip in Hiroshima.
I enjoyed my trip in Hiroshima. We spent a day in Miyajima island and explored the Atomis Bomb Dome. wished we had more time to explore the city and the nearby towns.
The JR free tourist bus is convenient. You can either pay ¥220 per ride, or ¥600 for day pass. We didn’t not realise that it is also free if you hold a JR pass. It does a loop and take you to all major tourist sites in city.

This hotel exceed our expectations. Not only it is just a walking distance from Hiroshima Peace Memorial Park, Ferry Pier to Miyajima Island, Hondori Shopping street but also Shintenchi Okonomimura for our Okonomiyaki fix. It is so convenient this hotel location. Breakfast buffet is also very nice. Staffs are so friendly and welcomed us with a beautiful smile. We had wonderful time at the rooftop bar to end our day. Hotel staff gave us some free coins to spend at the bar. It is Wonderful stay and I do highly recommend this hotel.
The hotel Granvia is well located for a trip to Hiroshima, located just above the train station. Access to convenience store and food and beverage options outside hotel is great.
Service exceeded expectations as we arrived prior to check in time, stored our bags and went out for the day. When we returned to check in, our bags were already in our rooms. Happy to store luggage after checkout as week so that you can maximise your stay in the city.
The location is really great.

Hiroshima bus centre by walk around 10 mins.
2 mins walk to the nearest convenice store.
The dining place is good and relax with good seating and spacing.
The room is really quite, good for sleep.
The price is comparatively good for twin beds when compared to nearby hotel/ hostels.
