Kotono yado Musashino offers accommodation in Nara, and is located a 11-minute drive from Nara Station on the Kintetsu Nara Line. Location is great, right in Nara park. Staff was helpful and understanding of the language barrier. Let us drop our bags off early before check-in. Great food and service for both supper and breakfast. Nice big room for the two of us. They were nice enough to order our taxi for us the morning we left so we didn't have to worry about hiking back to the train (or bus) station.

Wakasa Annex features an outdoor hot public bath and free WiFi. Other facilities include a 24-hour reception, drinks vending machines and free parking. Todai-ji Temple is only an 8-minute walk. Fantastisk ryokan, kanskje det beste vi har bodd på noen sinne! Vi var der to netter, kunne vært der mye lenger. Utrolig hyggelig personale, fantastisk service. Flotte store rom med utvendig badestamp. Veldig god mat, anbefaler å booke med middag og frokost. Flott felles onsen, og mulighet for å booke privat onsen i 4. etasje, med utsikt over byen. Det gjorde vi, en ubeskrivelig opplevelse! Luksus og velvære. God beliggenhet med kort vei til alle severdigheter i Naha. Her vil vi bo neste gang vi er i Naha, uten tvil! Litt dyrt, men følte likevel at vi fikk mye igjen for pengene. Vi har reist mye i Japan; dette er en av de beste stedene vi har bodd.

Featuring 1-star accommodation, Hotobil B&B 潤 An inn that enjoys breakfast is located in Nara, 2.1 km from Nara Station and 21 km from Iwafune Shrine. Overall a great experience and a highlight of our trip - amazing host, excellent dinner and breakfast (make sure to order these when staying here!), very cozy Japanese-style rooms. Good location, too - very peaceful neighborhood, but still close to all the sights. We'll be sure to stay here again next time we're in Nara!

The accommodation facility of Gyokuzoin Temple features a hot public bath. The hotel is located in Mount Shigisan and houses a souvenir shop and drinks vending machines. Everything!! Especially the attention from the monks and staff

A 12-minute walk from the Kintetsu Nara Train Station, Hotel New Wakasa offers Japanese-style rooms with tatami (woven-straw) flooring. It was a beautiful room and the private outside bath was amazing.

Tsukihitei is located in the Kasugayama Primeval Forest, a UNESCO World Heritage site. Location, hotel, staff and food was excellent

Kanko Ryokan Yamato features city views, free WiFi and free private parking, located in Ikoma, 8.8 km from Iwafune Shrine. Lovely people and great ambiance, mystic & calming. We really liked the onsen as well.

Set 29 km from Nara Station and 36 km from Subaru Hall, 多武峰観光ホテル in Sakurai offers air-conditioned accommodation with views of the mountain and free WiFi. A public bath is available for guests. I can’t say enough good things about this place. It is truly a traditional ryokan stay. Accommodation - The rooms are spacious, very clean, you get all the amenities you can imagine, it has an onsen and the food is delicious. Staff - The staff is beyond wonderful - we were greeted by name when we arrived and throughout the stay. And the staff actually put the effort to pronounce my name correctly (not the Japanese version of it). Not everyone speaks English but honestly it doesn’t even matter. I would like to say a big “Thank you” to Shimoda-sama who served us dinner for two nights. She is such a lovely lady and so was the rest of the staff working there from the receptionist to the door attendants who would run to the door when we would arrive. I also think we were the only people in the hotel for the first 2 nights. Food - The food was delicious and served in a private, big room. It wasn’t cheap though and we had to order it in advance (same day in the morning) because we didn’t pre-book it. There aren’t a lot of options to eat nearby either, being in a quite remote location. There is a restaurant at the temple across the road but it closes at 3 PM. Location - The location is a bit remote but it’s beautiful, in the woods and across the road from an ancient temple, maybe one of the most beautiful I’ve seen in Japan so far. There is a bus station next to the hotel but the buses don’t come very often - maybe once/hr? The hotel also offered us a free shuttle bus at certain times. I would recommend to take a walk/ hike to Asuka village from the hotel. We made a day trip out of it because it can take a few hrs but it was all worth it. We saw wild wisteria, walked through rice fields, empty hills filled with flowers and saw wild monkeys in the woods.

Kadojin features mountain views, free WiFi and free private parking, located in Tenkawa. The property has garden and inner courtyard views. The location was picturesque and overall incredibly pleasant to look around at. The property itself is very well maintained, truly delivers the classic ryokan experience, onsen are amazing and very enjoyable, the staff was wonderful and incredibly helpful. The food was something else - both the kaiseki dinner and the breakfast were delicious, filling and a great pleasure to partake in. Overall, would highly recommend, I had a blast staying at Kadojin.

Set in Yoshino and only 38 km from Subaru Hall, Yoshinoonsen Motoyu offers accommodation with mountain views, free WiFi and free private parking. very kind, warm and welcoming staff! very cozy and serene place to stay, highly recommend!
