Upon check in we were greeted with tea and sweets, as well as a full overview provided by our hosts. It was very informative and made us feel right at home! The location was also great - right next to many frequented bus stops

Traditional Japanese Breakfast was great, a lot of vegetables. Location easy to get to by train and shuttle bus was easy to find.

When we arrived, they welcomed us with tea and a small sweet, which was lovely. Our room was large and looked out to the garden, which was gorgeous. We went in November and the autumnal colours in the garden and the town were absolutely beautiful. In the morning we had the privilege to attend the prayer and we received a blessing. After breakfast it started to snow, so we spent an hour watching the garden slowly turn white, it was magical. The communal toilets were clean and the communal bath was small but comfortable. Because the town is up in the mountains, and the building is all wood and paper walls it was very cold in the corridors, but we had heating in the room and nice thick covers for the night. A highlight of the stay were the dinner and the breakfast. All vegan food, very tasty even for us, who are not vegan or vegetarian. It is very conveniently located to visit Okunoin cemetery, we took part in a night tour, something that we highly recommend. All in all it was a magical stay and I would highly recommend it.

The temple is very peaceful, beautiful, the room was exactly what I was expecting. Such a great experience. Would come back to stay more days for sure. The monks are very kind and helpful. Love it

Loved the food and the rooms. The monks are very nice and you can attend several rituals in the temple which is amazing.
