Located in the sacred Koyasan area, Saizenin offers simple accommodation surrounded by mountains and many temples. Vi reiste hit fra Kyoto. Kom oss dit ved hjelp av tog, taubane og buss, som vi i utgangspunktet trodde skulle bli litt krevende, men kollektivtransport i Japan fungerer utmerket, og reisen dit var uproblematisk! Vi var to venninner som bodde på juniorsuiten (plass til 5 personer), da dette rommet var det eneste ledige da vi reserverte! Nydelig innredet rom, med eget bad (inkl. badekar med temperaturregulering på vannet!). Deilig vegetarisk middag servert på rommet på kvelden (kl 1700 eller 1730), før de kommer med futoner (madrasser) + dyner og puter. Man kjøper det man vil av drikke til middagen ved innsjekk. Fin seremoni med munkene på morgenen kl 7, før frokosten ble servert i en felles sal kl 7.30 på tatamimatter! Alt i alt et nydelig døgn i Koyasan, avslappende, rolig og behagelig! Anbefales på det sterkeste, som et avbrekk fra storbyene!

Shukubo Koya-san Eko-in er et 1000 år gammelt buddhistisk tempel, og tilbyr gratis Wi-Fi, en vakker hage og rom i japansk stil. Staff was very helpful and had very good english. The room was very comfy and had a nice view. Excellent private bathroom facilities, super clean and the most technological toilet so far haha. The night tour of the cementery was done by one of the ekoin monks, it was excellent, super reccomended! Meditation was good, morning ritual and fire ceremony very special... Overall had a nice, relaxing stay and learned lots of things!

Set within less than 1 km of Sanjusangen-do Temple and 2 km of TKP Garden City Kyoto, Vegan Minshuku Sanbiki Neko offers rooms with air conditioning and a private bathroom in Kyoto. Fantastic vegan b&b in Kyoto. I loved every minute of my stay there. The room was impeccably clean, like the rest of the house. Sleeping on a futon, Japanese style, was fun. Breakfast was fantastic. You can tell that Craig and Helen really care about their guests. Craig gave me lots of very useful info and tips about where to go and what to do in Kyoto. Much appreciated. I would certainly go back!

Set in Koyasan and only 39 km from Kishi Station, 高野山 宿坊 大明王院 -Koyasan Shukubo Daimyououin- offers accommodation with garden views, free WiFi and free private parking. We wanted to have a traditional experience as such. We loved the atmosphere. It calmed us down very quickly. The entity is managed by very little stuff. But they do their best to serve the small amount of guests well. Therefore one feels very familiar and cozy. In order to embrace every detail we recommend to join the morning ceremony and to visit the onsen. As a vegetarian I had no problem trying the whole menu provided. One could see that it’s been made with love. The rest of my family did not really enjoy the food, but also tried almost everything out of respect.

Offering a garden and garden view, 高野山 宿坊 龍泉院 -Koyasan Shukubo Ryusenin- is set in Koyasan, 45 km from Matsushita Park and 47 km from Kii Fudoki No Oka Museum of Archaeology and Folklore. Amazing place to stay. The morning prayer was definitely a highlight. Loved all of it. The temple is beautiful, with amazing gardens. The room was also very nice, spacious and well equipped. Staff was very kind. Dinner was served in a private dining room, the food was very nice (but if you cant eat Japanese food definitely bring something to eat as you cant buy anything at the temple). The onsen was modern and clean, men and women are separated. Thank you very much, would definitely recommend!

Situated in Koyasan in the Wakayama region, 宿坊 光明院 features accommodation with free WiFi and free private parking, as well as access to a hot tub. Unique experience in Kayosan. A must visit in Japan which is only complete with an overnight stay in a Buddhist monk place. We could take part at the meditation und morning and fire ceremony. We had great vegetarian dinner and breakfast at a private dinning room. At the necessary points they explained in english. We will never forget this experience.

Offering a garden and inner courtyard view, 祇園の宿 杏花 is located in Kyoto, 300 metres from Gion Shijo Station and 600 metres from Samurai Kembu Kyoto. Everything was perfect about this hotel. Our room was large but very cute with a nice garden and in a great location. And staff was very helpful. We also got some cool amenities.

Set in Shirahama, within 200 metres of Shirahama Beach and 1.2 km of Ezura Beach, Shirahama no Yado Daigo offers free WiFi throughout the property. Exceptional location - close to the beach, restaurants and supermarket. The staff was very friendly and helpful, went above and beyond to cater to our needs. The breakfast was freshly made daily and varied during our stay. Can not recommend this location enough.
