Exceptional Guesthouse. I must thank the Manager (did not get his name) for refunding me for a night's stay as there was a change in plans. He was very, very kind. I loved the in-house onsen.

Very convenient stop along the Kumano-Kodo route. We brought our own food for dinner and the host set up a nice table outside for us. Everything was very clean and the host is really nice.

Very clean and modern, excellent quality amenities were provided. Everything was done with a lot of thought and care. I felt so relaxed to arrive after a long travel day to a place so comfortable. Loved the pajamas too. The owner is also very friendly and accommodating - we went to his restaurant for dinner and the food was amazing and everyone was sooo welcoming

You sleep on tatamis (comfortable!) and bathroom facilities are shared. We arrived by car and there was parking. Our host gave us some excellent recommendations around town. It’s in a residential neighbourhood about a 10 minute walk down to the beach and the tourist area, which is really nice (as the centre of town feels a bit touristy)

The property is non-smoking and is located 1.8 km from Kumano Hayatama Taisha. The host Koji drove us to our Kumano River tour the next day which was a 20 minute drive and he did it very generously for us. He was very flexible with our check-in time and was extremely gracious and friendly and helpful and made sure we were very comfortable and then left us alone. The apartment was great for four people and it was quirky and spotless and charming. I would definitely stay again.

The adjoining restaurant/cafe also provided delicious food for dinner and breakfast. Totally recommended for people who want to enjoy Koyasan but wanting to save on accommodation by not staying in the temples.

Beautiful temple interiors and gardens, relaxing time by the river, very friendly staff and most of all, the experiences that you can book when staying there: zen meditation, meal appreciation, and copying of sutras, all with the chief monk himself who had a lot of patience to answer all our questions.
