This guesthouse is located along one of the Kumano Kodo Pilgrimage Routes and Yunomine Hot Spring, said to be one of the oldest hot springs baths in Japan, is a 5-minute walk from the property. We loved our stay in this hostel. It's full of people traveling in the area or walking Kumano Kodo and there is a sense of camaraderie and support. Also majority of these people are focused on hiking, so it's not a party place, more like a peaceful haven, where you can rest in a private onsen, eat, get advice on hiking trails and recharge. We very much appreciated the owner to waiting for us with check-in, because we wanted to make a stop on our way there. Very friendly and hospitable. We have a great time! Thank you!

This recently renovated guest house is located 29 km from Kamitonda Concert Hall and 31 km from Hosshinmon Oji Shrine. The guest house has a hot tub and a shared kitchen. Very kind host, we had some nice talk with host about Japan. He cooked us really delicious okonomiyaki. It was nice diner and breakfast with other guests. We tried sake. Everything you want after long Kumano Kodo walk! 😊

Situated just 500 metres from Shingu Castle Ruins Park, AJITO Hostel & CafeBar provides accommodation in Shingu with access to free bikes, a bar, as well as full-day security. It is located 700 metres from Kumano Hayatama Taisha and offers private check-in and check-out. The guest house features rooms with air conditioning, free private parking and free WiFi. The owner borrow me their bike and let me check in earlier as well. Even it small. It's super clean and modern. Had a good night sleep here to recharge before heading towards komodo kodo. Kamikura shrine is a must go and the famous ice shave that alot of actor and actress go here. Kid you not.

The property features quiet street views and is 3.6 km from Kii Kimoto Castle Ruins and 3.9 km from Nakano Castle Ruins. The guest house has a hot tub and bicycle parking. Host was a legend! We went surfing together and he was so willing to help out!

The air-conditioned accommodation is less than 1 km from Ezura Beach, and guests can benefit from private parking available on site and free WiFi. Boasting family rooms, this property also provides guests with a terrace. Staying at Sangenya Guesthouse was one of our best experiences in Japan. The property itself is beautiful, clean and traditional. Of course, the town of Shirahama was also beautiful and having access to the beach within walking distance made it such a great location. We spent some wonderful days at the beach! Unfortunately, one of the days there was a typhoon - however our incredible hosts were so lovely and generous that it was actually a positive experience even when the weather outside was torrential. This trip marked the end of a year in Japan and even as we packed up our things to leave, we were talking about how we wanted to come back to the guesthouse in the future because the property and hosts were so wonderful. We also had some drinks at the property’s café, and both the hojicha and matcha were the best ones we’d tried in Japan!  We absolutely recommend the Sangenya Guesthouse!

Set in Shingu in the Wakayama region, with Kamikura Shrine and Shingu Castle Ruins Park nearby, くまの蔵inn Warehouse offers accommodation with free WiFi and free private parking. 13 km from Fudarakusanji Temple and 14 km from Nachikatsuura Sports and Cultural Center, the property provides free bikes and a garden. The property is non-smoking and is located 1.8 km from Kumano Hayatama Taisha. The host Koji drove us to our Kumano River tour the next day which was a 20 minute drive and he did it very generously for us. He was very flexible with our check-in time and was extremely gracious and friendly and helpful and made sure we were very comfortable and then left us alone. The apartment was great for four people and it was quirky and spotless and charming. I would definitely stay again.

Wanpaku Park is 46 km away and Kii Fudoki No Oka Museum of Archaeology and Folklore is 46 km from the guest house. Able to purchase delicious dinners downstairs. Friendly owners.

Offering quiet street views, Guest House hachi hachi is an accommodation situated in Koyasan, 37 km from Kishi Station and 43 km from Matsushita Park. The 1-star guest house has air-conditioned rooms with a shared bathroom and free WiFi. The accommodation features full-day security and luggage storage space for guests. This was one of the best accommodations I have stayed during my extensive travelling through Japan. I have nothing but words of best recommendations. The location is great, very close to the main Garan complex and Kongobuji temple. It is a place where I would love to stay again. The rooms and bathrooms vere very clean and in top shape. It gave the impression of luxury eventhough the main feeling about the hotel is more homey and cozy. It's run by a lovely young couple and our host could speak exceptional English! He gave us many useful tips about the town and pilgrimage trails. He also helped us with luggages and order of taxi and train shedule. He was always very polite and helpful with anything we needed. The place has wonderful view from window and rooms are very tastefuly decorated in traditional japanese style. If you are looking for peaceful housing to stay and enjoy Japan, this is your place.

Each unit is fitted with air conditioning, a shared bathroom and a well-fitted kitchen including a microwave, toaster, fridge and kitchenware. The homestay features certain units with garden views, and units are fitted with a kettle. At the homestay, the units have bed linen and towels. Place is absolutely amazing . Feels like I am in a movie . The monks, the workers are all the nicest people. 100 percent recommend

Featuring 2-star accommodation, Guesthouse Yui is situated in Hongu, 8.5 km from Hosshinmon Oji Shrine and 23 km from Kumanokodo Nakahechi Museum of Art. This guest house features free private parking, a shared kitchen and free WiFi. Guests can enjoy quiet street views. I loved the guest and the beauty of the room and the surrounding area, I was very tired from a long hike in the summer heat but this place recharged me again. I also enjoyed the public onsen only 4 minutes from the house. I would love to come back one day!
