He went above and beyond to help us and make us feel comfortable. It's a perfect stop from Makasar to Rante Pao, because Nasrul organised that the bus stopped on the way and we didn't have to drive back to Makasar. Don't forget to order the food. They will freshly cook and amazing meal that is hard to find on the street. Don't expect high end luxury but a real authentic homestay with a lovely family. Whatever they earn they put back to upgrade the homestay, so you will be helping them by staying. Although Ramang Ramand is not listed as a highlight, it definitely should be!

He’s a great guide and runs very smooth tours, he is very enthusiastic and knowledgeable about the Toraja culture and history, his English is good. The room and house is of hotel standard, with homestay personal care and attention. The cleanest feet I’ve had in Indonesia! The best homestay of our travels! The food is delicious and abundant! Quiet location yet central enough, beautiful views. The hosts also dropped us at the bus station for our returning overnight bus, after our 3 day stayed. Wish we could have stayed longer. Thank you

With quiet street views, this accommodation features a balcony. The property is non-smoking and is situated 6.4 km from Fort Somba Opu. Our stay in Lauwrens was the perfect oasis in the city of Makassar- well located, immaculate, wifi, A/C, hot water, and clean and comfortable too. We used the rooftop for morning coffee and yoga, and there is a well-stocked kitchen area in case you should need to cook. The host was so kind, welcoming, and also helped us get some laundry done quickly before we left. It seemed to us a great value for what we paid as well. We already stayed here again since our first stopover in Makassar and would definitely recommend this property.

The location is perfect, you can visit the city center by foot. The place is beautifull, i loved spending the end of my days just reading in the balcony watching over the rice field. The beds are confortable and clean. The breakfast is super tasty.
But the best part of our stay were Imanuel and Kevin, father and son, and our hosts in their homestay. They will always give their best smile and effort to help you around, and they have such a big heart! I compleatly adore them both. Imanuel took us over some places to visit like graveyards, ricefields, and funeral ceremonys, always giving us the best explanations of the traditions and advise on how to behave and dress for the ceremonys. The two of them made our stay so very special and authentic. I will never forget this amazing days in toraja.

Great homestay, big beds, hot shower with good pressure and a shared bathroom that's always clean. Breakfast is one of the best I've had in whole Indonesia. Above all, Ibra is a lovely host and would do anything to help you or make your day better, give you recommendations, his contacts. The funeral ceremony tour with him was also an amazing experience. Absolutely recommended!
The homestay is very comfortable and a nice place to meet other people in a unique location. In addition, it is the perfect place to be shown around the culture and life of the people in Tana Toraja by the hostess and guide Meyske.
Manaek is a lovely sweet woman who seems to run the place. She prepares breakfast and dinner for the guests and she always smiles. The people are always willing to help you, with transportation or tours etc. The homestay is next to beautiful traditional houses and located in between the rice fields with beautiful views. It is perfect if you are looking for a peaceful stay in nature, compared to the noisy city centre of Rantepao.
Beautiful homestay. Staff is very helpful and arranged airport pick up, reservation for bus to Rantepao ( Tana Toraja) and transfer to the bus station. For 50 k pp we had a very nice breakfast. Location is very central. Makassar is a nice city to visit for a day or so.
Perfect for a family or group. Their staff is really helpful and super friendly. It feels like home staying here.
Yacob and his Family take really good care of their guests . Yacob is well connected in the area and took us to several ceremonies, caves and other interesting places . The food which was freshly cooked was tasty and fresh. I would recommend the homestay to my friends .The rooms were simple and provided everything you need . Hot shower and cold beer .
Henrik was very helpful with bus tickets when we were having difficulty booking online. When we arrived he was there to pick us up, and over the next two days was a wonderful guide, with his nephew Junus. We enjoyed the family atmosphere at the home stay.
We had a nice stay with Marlah and her family. She helped us with everything we needed like renting scooter, laundry services and taxi. Also the homestay is located in a very good location surrounded by good choices to eat and near a boulevard, so you can go and see the sunset :) the house was very lovely and tidy, and also our room was big enough. And lastly, the breakie was so good! Thanks for all!
Lovely host family. Paulus (host) did take us to a Torajan funeral as a guide. Also he arranged a rental motorbike/moped for us. His wife Ernie makes the best banana pancakes for breakfast!!
I loved that this was Meskyes private home. I enjoyed spending time in an authentic home stay. I felt so welcome. Because I respected that this is a private home and not a hotel, we let Meskye know when we were out at night and our approximate time back out of respect. As much as there are guests, it is still important to remember this is someones home. Nothing was an issue and Meskye and her mum made stunning local meals. Meskye also shared alot of local knowledge. It was so tranquil and I wish I had booked longer
