The bustling locality becomes completely quiet and peaceful at night interrupted only by the occasional dog barking. The bathroom is clean an filled with local plants. Rantepao
Toraja Sanggalangi Homestay is a recently renovated homestay in Rantepao, where guests can make the most of its garden and terrace. This homestay features free private parking, a 24-hour front desk and free WiFi. The homestay has family rooms. This Homestay was the definition of what a perfect Indonesian Homestay experience should look like. The amazingly kind family took me in as a child of their own. I happened to become a little sick during my stay due to too much travelling in the previous days so the family responded by giving my medicine, bringing me tea, and telling me to rest up for as many days as I might need until I felt better. I felt as if I was at home. And along with that, they offer scooters rental for 100k per day, washing for 20k per kilo and delicious and filling meals all around the clock upon request for only 25k per meal. The father of the family also can take you to a traditional Toraja funeral ceremony if you ask him. Without exaggeration, this has been one of my favourite and most wholesome Homestays during my 6 month long Asia travels. Thanks so much again and I can’t wait to come back

Well located and an awesome view from the terrace. But the best part about it is Imanuel and his son. The kindest person you can find which will go above and beyond to make sure you have a good time and understand the Torajan culture. We really enjoyed our time with them and would always come back!

Great homestay, big beds, hot shower with good pressure and a shared bathroom that's always clean. Breakfast is one of the best I've had in whole Indonesia. Above all, Ibra is a lovely host and would do anything to help you or make your day better, give you recommendations, his contacts. The funeral ceremony tour with him was also an amazing experience. Absolutely recommended!
The homestay is very comfortable and a nice place to meet other people in a unique location. In addition, it is the perfect place to be shown around the culture and life of the people in Tana Toraja by the hostess and guide Meyske.
Manaek is a lovely sweet woman who seems to run the place. She prepares breakfast and dinner for the guests and she always smiles. The people are always willing to help you, with transportation or tours etc. The homestay is next to beautiful traditional houses and located in between the rice fields with beautiful views. It is perfect if you are looking for a peaceful stay in nature, compared to the noisy city centre of Rantepao.
Beautiful homestay. Staff is very helpful and arranged airport pick up, reservation for bus to Rantepao ( Tana Toraja) and transfer to the bus station. For 50 k pp we had a very nice breakfast. Location is very central. Makassar is a nice city to visit for a day or so.
Perfect for a family or group. Their staff is really helpful and super friendly. It feels like home staying here.
Yacob and his Family take really good care of their guests . Yacob is well connected in the area and took us to several ceremonies, caves and other interesting places . The food which was freshly cooked was tasty and fresh. I would recommend the homestay to my friends .The rooms were simple and provided everything you need . Hot shower and cold beer .
Henrik was very helpful with bus tickets when we were having difficulty booking online. When we arrived he was there to pick us up, and over the next two days was a wonderful guide, with his nephew Junus. We enjoyed the family atmosphere at the home stay.
We had a nice stay with Marlah and her family. She helped us with everything we needed like renting scooter, laundry services and taxi. Also the homestay is located in a very good location surrounded by good choices to eat and near a boulevard, so you can go and see the sunset :) the house was very lovely and tidy, and also our room was big enough. And lastly, the breakie was so good! Thanks for all!
Lovely host family. Paulus (host) did take us to a Torajan funeral as a guide. Also he arranged a rental motorbike/moped for us. His wife Ernie makes the best banana pancakes for breakfast!!
I loved that this was Meskyes private home. I enjoyed spending time in an authentic home stay. I felt so welcome. Because I respected that this is a private home and not a hotel, we let Meskye know when we were out at night and our approximate time back out of respect. As much as there are guests, it is still important to remember this is someones home. Nothing was an issue and Meskye and her mum made stunning local meals. Meskye also shared alot of local knowledge. It was so tranquil and I wish I had booked longer
