The bustling locality becomes completely quiet and peaceful at night interrupted only by the occasional dog barking. The bathroom is clean an filled with local plants. The food was superb and the guiding by Meyeske exceptional. We have managed to attend a funeral and felt a part of it thanks to her and understood a lot about the culture.

Mama Tia is the excellent homestay and suitable for whom want to connect with locals and nature. It's a bit far from downtown but it's not a problem. The owner is an acknowlegable local guide who can suggest and manage to explore Toraja and help you to book your next trip.

Situated in Rantepao in the South Sulawesi region, Hostel Papa Tia features a garden. The property has mountain views. This is a fabulous homestay. The rooms are big and clean. The balcony upstairs is breeze and has wonderful views. We met a lot of interesting travellers in this home and made our stay even better. The family is wonderful and Yacobus and his son are the best guides. They know were to go and take you to interesting places. This homestay is highly recommended.

Toraja Sanggalangi Homestay is a recently renovated homestay in Rantepao, where guests can make the most of its garden and terrace. Peso did a really nice tour for me that included some home visits you cannot do on your own. Nice food, shower works. Deluxe room is worth paying extra for as it comes with a balcony with a view. Got a decent massage. Hosts are very kind people who try to make your stay as pleasant as possible. Grandma adds to the extra homely atmosphere.
