The homestay is very simple, is in a beautiful spot with rice terraces in front of it and it is pleasantly quiet at night... the food is delicious, you can choose from a menu for lunch or dinner... yansen put together a tour for us for 2 days and he is a wonderful tour guide, I learned so much about the culture of the toraja, it was really interesting, pleasant and funny with him... I definitely recommend this homestay and would come back straight away.

Dumb the owner is one of the most honest person you can find in Rantapao. Speaking to him, you feel with conviction that he is all about earning a fair and honest living, and despises others that try to overcharge tourists in the process ruining the image and reputation of his town. Despite what others said about noise in the neighbourhood, I didn't notice. I had good nights' sleep every one of the many nights I was there. I liked it so much I came running back when another booking cancelled on me. Leo the owner was very friendly and helpful. I guided me to see Ma'Nene on my first day and subsequently convinced me that I could do it by myself on scooter now that I know the place, thereby saving me a lot of money. Leo also informed me very diplomatically how another guesthouse had contacted him claiming that I was their tourist, in the process helped me see the truth and made the correct decision of staying with him and not get fleeced. Leo's Backpackers also rents out scooters for reasonable price, so it is extremely convenient.

Great homestay, big beds, hot shower with good pressure and a shared bathroom that's always clean. Breakfast is one of the best I've had in whole Indonesia. Above all, Ibra is a lovely host and would do anything to help you or make your day better, give you recommendations, his contacts. The funeral ceremony tour with him was also an amazing experience. Absolutely recommended!

Manaek is a lovely sweet woman who seems to run the place. She prepares breakfast and dinner for the guests and she always smiles. The people are always willing to help you, with transportation or tours etc.
The homestay is next to beautiful traditional houses and located in between the rice fields with beautiful views. It is perfect if you are looking for a peaceful stay in nature, compared to the noisy city centre of Rantepao.
We had a delightful stay at Nuansa Homestay, immersing ourselves in its rural charm and authentic accommodation. The host family was not only friendly but truly lovely and incredibly helpful throughout our visit. The traditional Tongkonan house was exceptionally clean, and surprisingly, no mosquitoes bothered us.
One highlight was the fantastic guide (Mr. Natan) they provided, enhancing our experience.
Lovely host family. Paulus (host) did take us to a Torajan funeral as a guide. Also he arranged a rental motorbike/moped for us. His wife Ernie makes the best banana pancakes for breakfast!!

I loved that this was Meskyes private home. I enjoyed spending time in an authentic home stay. I felt so welcome. Because I respected that this is a private home and not a hotel, we let Meskye know when we were out at night and our approximate time back out of respect. As much as there are guests, it is still important to remember this is someones home. Nothing was an issue and Meskye and her mum made stunning local meals. Meskye also shared alot of local knowledge. It was so tranquil and I wish I had booked longer
