One of the best hotels I've ever had the pleasure of staying. Gorgeous architecture combined with a beautiful view from all the rooms. Amazing facilities both in the room as well as in the hotel. Wonderful hot tubs with an amazing outside sauna. Had the luck to see the northern lights as well. Very kind and helpful staff and comfy beds. A bit pricey, but definitely worth every penny.

Located in Akureyri, 24 miles from Godafoss Waterfall, Hotel Halond has accommodations with a garden, free private parking and a terrace. The rooms come with a patio. It was super clean and in the perfect area. The facilities were ideal, I could do my own laundry in peace and make myself as many coffees as my heart wanted. This place is super modern and quiet, even in the second busiest Icelandic city.

Opened in June 2018, Hotel 1001 Nott offers modern accommodations 3.1 mi from Egilsstadir. The hotel features outdoor hot tubs overlooking Lake Lagarfljót. There is also an on-site bar. One of my favorite hotels in all five trips I've done to Iceland. The staff are helpful and friendly and the place is very warm and cozy. The view of the lake from the room is perfect for viewing the northern lights right from your bed!!! The breakfast and dinner are excellent.
