Opened in June 2018, Hotel 1001 Nott offers modern accommodation 5 km from Egilsstadir. The hotel features outdoor hot tubs overlooking Lake Lagarfljót. There is also an on-site bar. One of my favorite hotels in all five trips I've done to Iceland. The staff are helpful and friendly and the place is very warm and cozy. The view of the lake from the room is perfect for viewing the northern lights right from your bed!!! The breakfast and dinner are excellent.

Located in Borgarnes, 43 km from Thingvellir National Park, Basalt Hotel provides accommodation with a restaurant, free private parking and a bar. The staff was helpful and accommodating. The hot tub is very nice. Breakfast was varied, we loved the vegan yogurt!

Situated in Reykholt, within 19 km of Geysir and 29 km of Gullfoss Waterfall, Blue Hotel Fagrilundur - On The Golden Circle features free WiFi. it is beautiful and rustic-modern, with lovely clean rooms, 2 hot tubs and a nice continental breakfast. Mika restaurant across the street is also very good. Best of all, it’s a short easy drive to the Secret Lagoon.
