We loved staying with our hosts who were so engaging and helpful. We left the car behind to walk the 5 mins to the bus stop to get the bus to Oxford one day, and drove another day to the nearby Park & Ride. Wonderful breakfast and great hosts. Lovely and quiet home with a shared bathroom but the bedroom had plenty of room for us. We would stay here again.

Both free WiFi and parking on-site are accessible at the bed and breakfast free of charge. The property is non-smoking and is set 29 km from Notley Abbey. This lovely accommodation exceeded our expectations! Having arrived in the dark we managed to get a glimpse of the front room. At the front door we were greeted by the lovely hosts, Sue and Brendan who took us through. The house is simply unique and very beautiful. It has 3 floors (and a basement for the hosts use only). The front room had a very home-from-home feel. Sue showed us the kitchen which was amazing - wooden beams and original wooden doors but also a very modern feel to it. She then took us up to our room which was in the roof of house so it had a low ceiling and a small window. The bed was comfy and the bathroom was very clean and tidy. We had a little heater in the room which came in handy during the night and morning especially because of the recent cold spell. Breakfast was superb, the table was laid out for us complete with homemade bread (which was a wonderful treat) and condiments, cereals, yoghurts, juice and hot drinks. It was just a case of help ourselves. We have friends in Wallingford and every so often meet up with them for evenings out. It's always been difficult in the past to find reasonable accommodation but not any more, this is now our go to place and with hosts like Sue and Brendan we couldn't have found anywhere better.

Guest rooms in Royal Oak Ramsden are equipped with a flat-screen TV and bathrobes. What a gem! Lovely staff, delightful premises, luxurious room, incredible food... We came with our dog and received a marvellous welcome. The chef outdid himself (the best chips we've ever had). And we were lucky to be here in the run-up to Christmas. The whole downstairs was decked out with incredible decorations. A work of art. We'll be back again for sure.

You get a detatched seperate area all to your self, including bath room and kitchen. You can also control the heating all by yourself. Milk, tea and coffee was kindly provided, as well as a dedicated parking space :)
