Just 5 miles from the city centre of Oxford, The Bear and Ragged Staff offers fantastic homemade food, free parking, and free Wi-Fi. Ronan the assistant manager was very welcoming. Breakfast was excellent with many choices on the menu. Breakfast is served from 08-11. We were able to get a small take away breakfast for our drive to Gatwick airport when we were checking out which we appreciated.There always was parking available for our car. We were able to check in a few hours early which was great because we were very jet lagged. We ate dinner in the restaurant several nights and it was great as well. To get to Oxford we drove to the Seacourt park and ride and paid 5 pounds total to park our car and take the bus into Oxford. To return from Oxford you need to take the same bus line (400) that you went on. Our room was spacious and the shower was great. We were never bothered by noise.

Situated in the heart of rural Oxfordshire, in picturesque Dorchester, The George Hotel, Dorchester-on-Thames, Oxfordshire is one of Britain’s oldest coaching inns. This was our favorite place to stay during our Thames Path walk. The rooms are recently and stylishly renovated, and really look good. The ambience of this medieval inn was great. The beds are very comfortable, and the food at breakfast was fantastic. Dinner, with a reduced menu choice, was also good. Staff seemed eager to please.

We left the car behind to walk the 5 mins to the bus stop to get the bus to Oxford one day, and drove another day to the nearby Park & Ride. Wonderful breakfast and great hosts. Lovely and quiet home with a shared bathroom but the bedroom had plenty of room for us. We would stay here again.

We had a very comfortable stay in a very roomy clean mini apartment.the hosts were welcoming and helpful with sorting out the TV for us.we will definitely book to come again if we need to be in the area.
