Situated in the heart of rural Oxfordshire, in picturesque Dorchester, The George Hotel, Dorchester-on-Thames, Oxfordshire is one of Britain’s oldest coaching inns. This was our favorite place to stay during our Thames Path walk. The rooms are recently and stylishly renovated, and really look good. The ambience of this medieval inn was great. The beds are very comfortable, and the food at breakfast was fantastic. Dinner, with a reduced menu choice, was also good. Staff seemed eager to please.

Housed in a historic building, the recently renovated The Talbot Inn provides accommodation with a terrace and free WiFi. It is located 10 km from Blenheim Palace and features a housekeeping service. This was a great little find. Fabulous food, service and lovely clean modern rooms.

Sandford Meadow Guest House in Oxford provides adults-only accommodation with a terrace and a shared lounge. Both free WiFi and parking on-site are available at the guest house free of charge. Ric and Nadia are delightful hosts who offer a friendly and comfortable experience. I got on great with the other guests and enjoyed easy access to Proof Social Bakehouse, river walkways and central Oxford. Will be staying here again for the next visit to Oxford.

Boasting a garden and views of garden, Thatchcombe B&B is a bed and breakfast set in a historic building in Wantage, 28 km from Lydiard Park. Felt so lucky we stumbled upon this BnB. It was so perfect! Even better than what the pictures show. The surrounding area is so beautiful. Tony & Astrid made us feel at home. Thank you for sharing your piece of paradise.

Boasting garden views, Cranberry Cottage offers accommodation with a garden and a patio, around 23 km from University of Oxford. This lovely accommodation exceeded our expectations! Having arrived in the dark we managed to get a glimpse of the front room. At the front door we were greeted by the lovely hosts, Sue and Brendan who took us through. The house is simply unique and very beautiful. It has 3 floors (and a basement for the hosts use only). The front room had a very home-from-home feel. Sue showed us the kitchen which was amazing - wooden beams and original wooden doors but also a very modern feel to it. She then took us up to our room which was in the roof of house so it had a low ceiling and a small window. The bed was comfy and the bathroom was very clean and tidy. We had a little heater in the room which came in handy during the night and morning especially because of the recent cold spell. Breakfast was superb, the table was laid out for us complete with homemade bread (which was a wonderful treat) and condiments, cereals, yoghurts, juice and hot drinks. It was just a case of help ourselves. We have friends in Wallingford and every so often meet up with them for evenings out. It's always been difficult in the past to find reasonable accommodation but not any more, this is now our go to place and with hosts like Sue and Brendan we couldn't have found anywhere better.

Featuring a garden and views of garden, The Old School, Idbury, OX7 6RU is a bed and breakfast situated in a historic building in Chipping Norton, 30 km from Blenheim Palace. A lovely country location. The room was big and comfy. The room had a separate ground level entrance. The host is very nice indeed, and the breakfast was wonderful.

Royal Oak Ramsden features a garden, terrace, a restaurant and bar in Ramsden. This 4-star inn offers free WiFi. The property is non-smoking and is located 16 km from Blenheim Palace. A lovely surprise! Everything was really done well from room to breakfast and dinner!!

Featuring a garden, Guest House B&B is situated in Oxford, within 47 km of Newbury Racecourse. Having a full house at my disposal.

The Three Horseshoes features a garden, terrace, a restaurant and bar in Burford. This 4-star inn offers luggage storage space. The accommodation provides evening entertainment and free WiFi. We stayed at the Three Horseshoes over New Year. It is in a perfect location away from the crowds of Burford, set in beautiful countryside. The pub and rooms had just been refurbished. The rooms were really cozy and the food was excellent. We visited lots of pubs in the area and this was definitely the best. The owner and her stuff were wonderful, welcoming and helpful, we would definitely love to come back.
