Located in the sacred Koyasan area, Saizenin offers simple accommodation surrounded by mountains and many temples. Amazing accommodation and very welcoming temple. We had a great experience there.

This is my second time staying at Ekoin and it was excellent just like last time. The meditation and fire ceremony were beautiful. The food was good last time but this time was even better, just delicious. The staff is incredibly friendly and the shared bath is spotless and super comfortable. I cannot recommend Ekoin enough.

My stay at this hotel in Koyasan, managed by monks, was an unforgettable experience. The monks' hospitality and guidance throughout our stay were exceptional. The private dining in a traditional Japanese setting was exquisite, and the onsen was a relaxing highlight. Participating in the morning prayer provided a unique spiritual connection. The monks' parting gift added a personal touch to our departure. If you seek a remarkable and culturally rich stay in Koyasan, I highly recommend this hotel.

Set in Shirahama, within 200 metres of Shirahama Beach and 1.2 km of Ezura Beach, Shirahama no Yado Daigo offers free WiFi throughout the property. This place has a 9.1 rating and most reviews seem too good to be true but trust me on this, this place is THAT good. And I would rate this hotel a 100 out of 10 if I can, the high rating is truly deserved. The staff is very kind and welcoming. The rooms are clean, spacious, and the futon is comfortable. The location is great, there are many food places nearby, the beach is just a few minutes walk away (you can even see it from your room depending on where you are placed), and the bus stop which will take you to the station or most places around Shirahama is very near.

Situated in Koyasan and only 39 km from Kishi Station, 高野山 真田坊 蓮華定院 -Koyasan Sanadabo Rengejoin- features accommodation with garden views, free WiFi and free private parking. The stay was the highlight of our trip. Also the most expensive, but we wouldn’t miss it for the world!

Located just 12 km from Hosshinmon Oji Shrine, Minshuku Sumiya features accommodation in Tanabe with access to an open-air bath, a bar, as well as a housekeeping service. Dinner and breakfast was superb. Loved the old style room with the tatami mats, futon , river view/sounds and japanese style table and chairs. Tattoo friendly onsen in this place and bonus onsen by the river. Staff friendly, helpful and informative. Wi fi reception excellent!

Hotel Kirinosato Takahara features outdoor and indoor hot spring baths, only a 2-minute walk from the World Heritage Kumano Kodo Pilgrimage Routes. The host Jian was amazing and the food cooked by his wife and daughter was exceptional, both for the dinner and in the next day's bento boxes for our day walking the Kumano Kodo
