Tatami (woven-straw) floors and Japanese futon beds create a traditional atmosphere in the rooms at Takahan Ryokan. All rooms have a flat-screen TV, and the attached bathroom comes with a bathtub. I loved everything about this hotel. The people, the service, the location. They picked me up from the train station with very warm welcome. Knowing I wanted to ski, they drove me to the rental place and then to the ski resort, even gave me a convenience note in 3 languages for me show other people to make call for me to notify the host to pick me up. They carried my skis, they gave me slippers....and given the language barrier, the host even drove me to the station and helped me to buy my train tickets. When the hotel restaurant was fully booked, the host booked me a restaurant outside and even drove me there back and forth. I could go on with all the heart warming details that made me felt home, it is the highest service level that I have never seen anywhere else. And most amazing was, I lost my credit card, a few hours later the host told me that someone text him that they found my credit. So someone has been looking around and checking which hotel I was in. I was literatelt stunned when I received my credit card back. With this super friendliness and integrity, I think I can learn a lot from Japanese people and their culture. So very big appreciation for Takahanand the lovely hosts. I will surly recommend this hotel and return myself in the future. Thank you!
