The room we were in was extremely spacious and we were also the only ones on level so whilst we had to share toilet/bathroom facilities, there was no need to actually share with other guests. The hosts were super lovely and easy to communicate with. They prepared really delightful meals for our dinner and breakfast that my parents really enjoyed.

Great facility! Hosts were fantastic, and their hospitality was absolutely off the chart!!
We were there during fall, and went for a hike up to the falls. Beautiful little area of Japan. I have been to MyokoKogen a few times for skiing, but this was the first time I've gone during the fall season.
Sleeping on futon was great! Other guests were extremely respectful of quiet times. Dinner was AMAZING. Definitely sign up for dinner if you want to enjoy some great regional foods: Nodoguru and Tempura Shiroko were excellent.

It is one of the best ski resorts for beginner. The slope is a good challenge for newbies and the lift ticket is cheap and not crowded at all. I can get to snowboarding right in the back of the hotel. I would recommend it for families with elderly and kids. The dinner is included and it is very good and delicious.

Went during autumn 🍂 season on a cycling trip from Karuizawa to Iiyama. Superb location , awesome and accommodating staff, great vegan food and very clean. Love the place and would like to visit again during the ski 🎿 season!
Experience culture authentically with a stay at these traditional Japanese-style accommodations. Sleep on the floor (on a futon roll) in a room furnished with tatami flooring and sliding doors. Guests can often expect access to a communal bath, plus a complimentary Japanese garment called a yukata.

Love this place , older style japanese inn. So many cool features . Lots of nooks and crannies to explore. Beautiful Onsen , amazing Japanese breakfast ( which they make small changes to each day of you stay longer ). Great hosts , loads of interesting objects and art. They also have some local products for sale. Its super quiet space , very relaxing. One of my favourite spots ive stayed in japan . Theres also a handful of good restaurants within minutes -

A nice Ryokan in Myoko, a little dated but quite comfortable. The rooms are spacious were were a family of 3 adults sharing a room and we all had plenty of room. Trditional futon sleeping, futons were a little thin for our comfort but the doona cover was lovely and warm. The hosts are very friendly people, nothing was too much trouble. There is a public onsen and a private onsen. We booked the private bath and it was wonderful. We had a Japanese breakfast one morning and it was delicious! The staff were exceptionally friendly
The atmosphere was great and very traditional. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The traditional breakfasts and dinners were amazing. Also they had a several Onsen options from private to public. We would stay again if we came to the myoko Kogan region.
This is a small ryokan with ensuite toilets in every room run by a friendly and obliging elderly couple in great location 1km from Alpenblick skifield and 400m from Alpenblick spa with its famous black water pools and great Japanese restaurant. There is not a shared bathroom in the western sense, but a simple but authentic private onsen in house. The hot water and teabags and snacks in the corridor were much appreciated as was the hot drink and biscuits at reception on returning from skiing .
The size of the rooms was excellent with a nice view of the mountains.
There were plenty of facilities with a wine bar, coffee shop, restaurants, and a games room for the kids.
The onsens (hot springs were fantastic, both inside and outside.
Situated in a very convenient location, close to the ski resort and restaurants.
This is an excellent hotel, highly recommended 👌
Once we got settled in, we liked the private onsen booking feature so that we could, as a family, bathe together. The breakfast selection was really great and we all slept super soundly in our tatami room. Very good base for a ski holiday.
Traditional tatami may rooms are very clean and roomy and a great experience. Futon beds are as comfortable as a western bed.
The breakfast is fantastic.
Easy walk to all restaurants.
The location is great, close to the slops and we enjoyed the onsen which can be privately booked. The futon bedding is very comfortable and the staff was very helpful.
the traditional room was spacious, and has a great view of the mountains. you can experience the Japanese lifestyle wearing Yukatas and sleeping on futons which were so comfortable, and you can keep your shoes on all the way to your room. the onsen was great, especially the outside one when it was snowing. the kids had fun in the games room even though it cost me with those skill testers. bars are great too with nice beer on draught.
