A beautiful traditional style Ryokan, so clean, comfortable and beautiful. The staff were incredible, especially Miki at the front desk, she did everything to assist us and beyond. Also Hoshino san, also helped us with additional requests with the shuttle as the township was very busy - we are VERY grateful for your help and friendliness.

Set in peaceful landscapes, Kogakuro offers pleasant Japanese-style rooms with plenty of natural light. It features indoor and outdoor hot springs, a library and a cosy lounge with a fireplace. Amazing host, Mieko-san made the stay feel so special with her warmth, helpful demeanor and cheery greetings. Location was great for Akakura Onsen runs, food restaurants were nearby. Breakfast eggs and pancakes were standout items. Room was big and comfortable.

The rooms are nicely designed and renovated with balcony and all needed amenities. The food (Kaiseki) is delicious, the host is very helpful (in English if required).

Amazing stay, so peaceful and clean. Staff were wonderful and gave us lots of unique experiences (like the sparklers!). They went above and beyond to accommodate us, which we really appreciated. Food was delicious and the onsens were gorgeous.

Had the most incredible stay at Satoyama Jujo. My wife and I were visiting Japan and in search of a nature retreat from Tokyo for a few nights, and this resort exceeded our expectations in so many ways. The room was quiet and serene, the baths had stunning views of the surrounding mountains, and the food was impeccable. The service was so thoughtful as well; on our last day we were snowed in and couldn't get back to Tokyo, but the hotel made sure we could extend our reservation one night and offered a complimentary taxi to the train station the next day. Hope to be back again one day!

Wonderful and helpful staff - if you don't speak Japanese, no problem. the staff speaks some English, communicates thru translation apps and clear gestures. fantastic room with an ocean view! lovely onsen. I was stunned by the huge variety of foods at dinner and breakfast buffets. We don't have this in the US. If I had I known how great the whole experience would be, I would have booked an extra night.
