The hotel has a quiet beauty right out of a postcard, the staff are amazing and the food sublime. They did everything to make our stay perfect. The food is one of the best I ever had at a hotel, but western travellers should make sure to set expectations regarding the food which is very japanese, it was always interesting and perfectly executed but pushed us to our limits in some cases :)

Offering free bikes and quiet street view, Log Hotel Larch Lake Kanayama is situated in Minamifurano, 36 km from Furano Station and 37 km from Windy Garden. the house is big and comfortable. car can be parked in front of the house - easy for loading unloading luggage. the surrounding is quiet and calm. the view from the house is beautiful. snow sleds are provided so that the kids can play snow next to the house.

Ryotei Hanayura has mountain views, free WiFi and free private parking, situated in Noboribetsu, 45 km from Lake Toya. This 4-star ryokan offers a lift and a housekeeping service. Everything, the staff, the services, the dining, the private open air bath, the location. It was all fantastic.

The hot spring was unwinding and my family enjoyed the location of the hotel since it’s around 10minutes walk to the ski resort. The food was luscious with various local delicacy and other food options. Moreover, the strawberry milk in the vending machine near the public Bath tasted so good after a nice rest in the onsen.

Boasting open-air hot spring baths and ocean views, Wakamatsu Hot Spring Resort is a 15-minute drive from JR Hakodate Station. Free parking is available on site. This was our absolute favorite hotel during our entire trip to Hokkaido! The hotel is incredibly beautiful, with aesthetic details everywhere you look. Everything was spotlessly clean, and all the staff were so kind and welcoming. You can even book a private hot spring, which was such a special experience! We chose the breakfast-included option, and it was absolutely amazing—so delicious and abundant. On top of that, the restaurant’s view was breathtakingly beautiful. Our room was simply perfect—we loved it so much! It was spacious, beautifully designed, and had a stunning view of the ocean right outside. We are already looking forward to coming back again in the future! Thank you so much to the Wakamatsu and all the wonderful staff for giving us such a memorable stay. I highly recommend this hotel to everyone!

Surrounded by lush nature, luxury Japanese-style hotel Niseko Kombu Onsen Tsuruga Mokunosho features a hot spring bath and rooms with mountain views and free Wi-Fi, some with a private open-air bath. Breakfast was delivered and restaurant was in a nice quiet spot. Each aspect of the meal was explained and well prepared.

Hotel Kifu Hotel Shiretoko is a 10-minute drive from Shiretoko National Park, which is assigned as a UNESCO World Heritage. The room for my family of 3 is spacious. It is clean and comfortable. We stayed for 2 nights and were impressed by everything. Highly recommended if you are looking to stay in a ryokan in the Shiretoko area.

Located a 15-minute taxi ride from or a 25-minute bus ride from JR Toya Train Station, The Lake View Toya Nonokaze Resort offers guests a panoramic view of Lake Toya from their infinity onsen. The staff were some of the friendliest and most helpful I’ve met, even by Japan’s standards. They helped me book Taxis whenever I needed, arranged for a shuttle bus to take me to the station at the end of my stay, and were always available when you needed them. Amenities were refilled everyday (including the welcome treats!!). The onsen (indoor, outdoor, and traditional) were all clean and provided stunning views of the lake. The hotel itself is pretty close to major attractions (walking distance to the Lake Toya Cruise, 12 minute taxi ride to Lake Hill Farm and Lake Toya Ranch). Breakfast and Dinner served a really good variety of dishes. I particularly loved the Hokkaido dairy selections. When I stayed there, they provided special dishes for guests staying 2 days onwards, which was such a sweet surprise! There’s also a tax free shop called Select 108 attached to the hotel, and I found the prices of souvenirs there very reasonable.

Situated within 48 km of Azumamachi Hall and 1.2 km of Tokiwa Park in Asahikawa, Mimatsuso Ryokan offers accommodation with seating area. This 1-star ryokan offers free shuttle service. The staff are amazing, such a nice ryokan in a great location. The owners greeted us as welcoming us to their home. We were only there for one night but it was really nice. Lots of amenities provided, they are so thoughtful and kind. I would stay there again!
