Matlock
A clean and spacious apartment at a very good price. The host provided detailed instructions on locating the lock box and accessing the property. Given the provision of a cooker and microwave, we brought our own food and enjoyed a pleasant, relaxed evening meal at the table overlooking the lights by the river. The apartment provided a convenient base for travelling on into the Peak District the next morning after a good night's sleep. We found there was plenty of free overnight parking (after 6pm) on the road right by the apartment.
Baslow
Lovely room with a comfy bed, modern updated bathroom with one of the best hotel showers I have ever had. The room was spacious and decorated so nice! It felt cozy and luxurious. We loved the breakfast. You could tell it was made with love. Bonus that the food was all sourced from local farms in the area. Such an amazing value for a really unique experience. The property manager was kind, helpful, and check-in/ out was so easy! The property was in close proximity to Chatsworth house. Must stay location in the Peak District.
Buxton
Super Location, easy to access with 10-30mins driving around. It's comfortable, clean and quiet, self catering apartment. We have spent a wonderful weekend in this beautiful place. Highly recommended for a perfect stay to friends and family, we will be coming again next time around peak district. ps. Our host was very kind, He saw we had kid and gave us a bigger apartment than what we have originally booked for three of us, feeling being well looking after.
The Hotel is brand new, which is pretty rare considering it's in the heart of the peak district. However it is very nicely built and fits with it's surroundings nicely. There is plenty of parking, a great restaurant, space to relax and play boardgames. And lots of dogs. If you are not a dog person I'd stay elsewhere. Facilities for washing and storing your bike was great and saved the car from being covered in mud on the way home.
Absolutely amazing apartment. Clean, spacious, like being home from home, couldn't fault it at all. Great location for walks in the Peak District, just a shame the weather wasn't on our side. We ate in the pub both nights, food was lovely, staff and locals really friendly, Wilson enjoyed all the fuss he was getting. We will definitely be going back but maybe during the summer months next time.
We stayed here as it was cheap (£50 a night) and in a good location to drive Snake Pass across the Peak District. The bedroom itself was clean and well maintained, and the bed was comfy. I think there was probably only about 4 rooms occupied as the hotel and car park were extremely quiet and there was no one in the bar. The young lady in the bar attached to the hotel was friendly.
Stoney Middleton
First class property in first class location for exploring the Peak District. Apart from the 'deposit' payment of £150 which was hidden in the Booking.com details it was perfect. The deposit should be highlighted when you BOOK not afterwards. I have never in 40 years of travel had to pay a deposit for 2 night stay. But rest assured the apartment and our break was superb :)
It is an old fashioned hotel, so don't expect much to be modern. But it's cosy, clean and the food was exceptional. Bathroom in my room was brand new, so they've upgraded the essential stuff. You can see they're also re-decorating so they're trying to improve it. Staff were exceptionally friendly. In the heart of the Peak District so great location.
Buxton
Wow - what a stunning apartment! Beautiful decor, ingenious use of space and plenty of room for a few nights stay. Everything we needed with really clear guides and superb recommendations (most of which we tried out). 5 minutes from lots of great bars and restaurants and right in the heart of the gorgeous Peak District. Luxurious, inspiring and rejuvenating.
Great value accommodation, not too far from the city centre and conveniently located on bus routes out to the Peak District. The lounge/dining area is very pleasant, and the breakfast buffet surprisingly good for a budget hotel. There are also plenty of eating choices nearby - lots of takeaways on London Road, and a big food court in Moor Market.
I had a great stay in the bunk room. Really nice staying in an only a 2 person shared room compared to a larger hostel. Everything was clean and comfortable. Multiple pillows and blankets and towels provided for free. Very close to public transportation to the Peak District. I would recommend and would stay again if in Macclesfield again.
The property was lovely to say it was a old building situated in a perfect spot for opera house shopping exploring Buxton and Peak District. The rooms are lovely warm and welcoming staff lovely there is parking outside the hotel you can get a permit from the hotel for 24 hr parking for £3 the breakfast was lovely plenty to choose from
The location is great for the Monsal trail. I thought the apartment was a perfect base for an adventurous weekend in the Peak district. The kitchen is well equipped, the bathroom is great and the apartment is spacious for a couple of people. The hosts looked after our bikes when we weren't using them.
A beautiful period property excellently appointed. Location perfect for visiting the Peak District and Chatsworth House. Plenty of eatery choices in Baslow village, even breakfast available at The Wheatsheaf hotel, so no need to cook. An excellent place to relax in the peace and quiet.
Cosy apartment with beautiful scenery. Owners made an effort to decorate the house for Christmas. The rooms are big and there are many good DVD titles for us to spend the day indoors when the weather gets too cold and wet. The location is good too with easy access to the Peak District.
Old Hall Hotel is in a pretty good location in the middle of the Peak District. Our rooms were great, the staff were fantastic, and we enjoyed the breakfast. Overall, I'd definitely recommend this hotel as a place to stay if you're travelling through Hope.
Really nice room in a very nice hotel with great restaurant/ bar. Nice setting. Very clean. Very comfortable room - very large. Friendly staff made it a pleasant stay. We will stay in this hotel again when next visiting the Peak District for sure.
Lovely old fashioned hotel with spacious rooms and perfectly located for exploring the peak district. Breakfast is really good, good range of options available. Dog friendly which is brilliant and a lovely area where your pooch can sit with you for breakfast.
Perfect location for the peak district. Hotel room was immaculate, had the syr Richard room at the back, very peaceful. Stephanie the owner was very helpful, great knowledge of places to visit, described the walk we took down to a tee, even the angry goose!!
