The location is beautiful, nice and peaceful. Food was wonderful, we ate an evening meal and had breakfast for 2 days. All well cooked and presented. The staff were very friendly and helpful. A comfy room, big enough for the two of us for 2 nights.

Spending 2 nights at Alton towers would be more suitable as you are exhausted from walking around the park all day. When we go again, we will travel up the night before our first day park visit. Loved the hotel, it was definitely worth the experience. We had booked the explorer room with a double bed and bunk beds for the children. It was a basic room considering what they have on offer but it was also the cheapest yet still gave the children a great experience. The room is an explorer theme throughout from the carpet, bedspread to the lighting. If you are travelling I would recommend going for 2 nights to get the most out of the experience. By staying at the hotel on resort, you get entrance to the park from 09:30am which means you can walk to the rides and get to the front of the rides before the park opens at 10am rush hour! Try not to go when schools have their last day as they tend to go to Alton towers for an end of year school trip and the park gets extremely busy.

When went there it was on a Tuesday in September.
When went there it was on a Tuesday in September. And the Q times at most were 20 mins. So we managed to get on everything we wanted sometimes more than once. But my gripe is that we paid the full price yet not every ride was open both 13 and Spinball were both closed when when I asked a member of staff why this was he said that because the park were expecting a quiet day they made the decision to not open certain rides really if you've paid the full price ALL rides should be running.
What I didn't understand is that Alton Towers have brought in what looks like 2nd hand rides of the kind you would see at a travelling fair and just dotted them around the park were they look out of place and in my opinion cheap. These rides were running but the more famous rides eg 13 were shut.
Final point PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE do something with Nemesis either give it a face-lift or put the poor thing out to pasture...the ride is still one of the best in the park but it is looking tired and unloved with bits falling off the poor Alien.

Amazing theme park .. fantastic rides, lovely grounds and couldn't fault it at all ... would recommend fast track as with so many queue's there wouldn't have been enough time to do all the rides!!

The staff were always so happy to help and really attentive.
The staff were always so happy to help and really attentive.
However, our room had dust everywhere. Our bed was covered in it and the floor had not been hoovered from the previous guests. Two of our pillows had stains on them, one of which was an OLD blood stain. We left our pillows for the cleaner to replace (stain side showing!), however, the pillows were turned over and put back on the bed so that the stains could not be seen. I then took the pillows to reception myself and asked for new ones to be given to me. They were given and I was pleased.
We ate in the secret garden restaurant on Sunday and Monday for dinner and breakfast. Breakfast was fine. Sunday evening, the waitress was lovely, attentive and really speedy (which was good as we were hungry!). Monday evening, after a long day, the waiter took over 30 minutes to even acknowledge that we were sat at the table, which we had been placed at by another waitress, and then took our drinks shortly after the 30 minute wait. We ordered drinks and food at this point as we were hungry. The waiter mentioned many times that our drinks were coming, however after another long wait of 20 minutes, our food arrived at our table before our drinks. The drinks then arrived another 10 minutes later.
When we received our food, we asked for some sauces which the waiter said he could get for us. This did not happen and he proceeded to take someone else their bill, another tables order and their drinks. By now, the food was cold and so I went to the kitchen to ask the staff for some sauces myself. I was not impressed.
I know the waiter explained that he does not normally work in the restaurant, but this was not the experience I was expecting.
I paid over £550 for a stay in this hotel, and I am truly disappointed. This should be at least half the price for the standard of this hotel.

Alton Towers Scarefest was amazing.
Alton Towers Scarefest was amazing. We found our way around the park easily, although hard work around the main park with 2 pushchairs.... We ate at the Pizza & Pasta restaurant, food was reasonable, good value as it included drinks and ice creams (our children at for free). Splash Landings water Park is definitely worth a visit, especially on a rainy day.
We usually stay at the alton towers hotel, however this year we fancied a change and found this cottage on booking.com. It’s in a great location, which is only a 2 minute drive to alton towers. The cottage was easily accessible, clean and there was plenty of parking outside. On the second night we visited the pub next door called the bridge. Lovely staff and food, and they served food until 8.30pm, so we were able to leave the park and have some nice food before we headed back to the cottage. We’ll be back next year!
Second time staying here in a couple of months for a visit to alton towers, and did not disappoint. Food in the bar at night is fabulous value for money, and the food is delicious. Breakfast was very good and set us up for the day. Stayed in a chalet this time and very clean and comfortable.
We had such an amazing stay, such a lovely warm cottage. No more than a 3 minute drive to Alton towers. 3 pubs over the road. Area was extremely quiet and beautiful. Had everything you needed. Thank you
