A nice simple hotel with friendly staff clean rooms and breakfast and evening food was tasty. Also liked there was a kettle in the room and a little ironing room nearby.

As Secretary of a fancy pigeon club a group of us travel to Barnsley for the Country's leading show which is held at the Merrodome. Comming from Cumbria it's quite a trip and Barnsley for us countryfolk is a bit daunting - traffic wise ! But always well worth it in the end.
Plenty to see and do.

We chose Barnsley, as it was a good half way home stop, weve been for a 4 night break in the NW Scotland area.
We chose Barnsley because we wanted to visit Cannon hall Farm. Weve watched the farm on the tv so we wanted to see it for ourselves.
The Fairway was an excellent stop over, close to the main road network however was in a quiet stop for a sleepover, the resturant and bar was a bonus, the food was hot, tasty and cooked to perfection. Very reasonably priced. We would recommend both and if in the area, would choose to stay at the Fairway again.

I was in Barnsley solely for an event. For the Big Day Out with the Bar Steward Sons of Val Doonican it was perfect. I can't comment on any other aspect of Barnsley, except that the locals we met were great.

A great place to stay.
A great place to stay. We were a little worried when we arrived as a wedding was being hosted on the day. However, our worries were unwarranted as the event (and afterwards) were separate and quiet from the remainder of the hotel and guests. The room was excellent. Spacious, well appointed and up to date, with a modern, functional bathroom and comfortable bed. Breakfast in the morning was easy and tasty!

This was our second stay at the apt and we will return again. Brilliant location, the building is lovely and quiet. The apt as last time is spotlessly clean, bed is so comfortable, everything you will need for a short or longer stay is in the apt. Lovely touches with the milk, tea/coffee, mini toiletries etc.
View from both the living room/kitchen and bedroom is great, sit on the window ledge for some good people watching. Stones throw from the towns bars, restaurants and shops, parking is plentiful nearby. Dave & Diane are great hosts and keep you updated prior to your stay, cannot recommend enough, wish we could have stayed longer.

Hotel was fine as always, but imagine my surprise at receiving TWO parking tickets a few weeks later for £100 each. I was not informed at the check-in desk about the new parking arrangements where vehicles have to be registered with the hotel, and staff failed to mention the new parking system in order to access the free car parking facilities. . I have been a regular guest every month for about five years, so just a warning if you stay at Ibis Styles Barnsley.

The location was perfect for exploring the area, with easy access to local attractions and beautiful countryside. The place itself was spotless, well-organized, and thoughtfully decorated, making it feel like a cozy home away from home. The host was friendly, accommodating, and quick to respond to any questions, ensuring a smooth and pleasant experience. Overall, a wonderful place to relax and enjoy Barnsley – I’d definitely stay again!
We so enjoyed our stay in this lovely cosy home. We booked the house because we were working in Barnsley town centre for a week and it was absolutely ideal. The house has free on road parking and you can work into the town centre. The decor is lovely, it’s super clean, the little touches (biscuits, milk, toiletries, etc) were much appreciated. If you need a place to stay in Barnsley you will not be disappointed!
Having stayed at Tankersley Manor on a number of previous occasions, we were familiar with the layout, facilities and services, along with the friendly South Yorkshire welcome we always receive.
This time, we stayed in a fabulous, recently refurbished room, above the main hotel reception desk in the main building. Everyhing was fine.
Absolutely beautiful and cheap for what you get and were its located beats most hotels hands down really good value for money really nice rooms excellent staff very polite and helpfull
