I really liked the facilities, especially being able to use the spa and the gym (very well equipped) included in the price of the stay. The room was spacious, with a comfortable bed and Elemis toiletries.
Very close to the Peak District so a perfect location to many walks.
The Bridge is a newly refurbished 24 bedroom property in the picturesque village of Prestbury, located on the bank of the River Bollin.

We lived in Macclesfield over 18 years ago, and got married there, so this was a nostalgic trip. The town has become quite trendy in the intervening years with plenty of bars and restaurants to choose from. Good to see some of the old stalwarts such as the Waters Green Tavern are still there and refusing to become even the slightest bit trendy!

A good base to visit Peak District.
A good base to visit Peak District. Shopping centre in decline. Local bus services in decline but possible to reach Hayfield and Buxton. Plus very good train service to Manchester, London, Birmingham etc. Some good eateries - especially excellent Plums Kitchen.

I like Macclesfield because it is a pretty town with good links to Manchester if you need the big city, the Peak District if you like walking, and Buxton if you want a bit of culture. The town is of a manageable size with pretty parks, and it has various small events going on in the local pubs, plus each month there is the Treacle Market, which is a popular feature of Macclesfield.

I came for the silk museum and the Paradise Mill which I can recommend both. The Treacle Market on the last Sunday of the month was a good experience. The weather was sunny, but often was a chill strong wind, I missed a hat. It takes only 30 minutes to travel by train to Manchester, and about 2 hours to London. There are good restaurants and pubs! There are many places to take a nice walk in the nature of the surrounding area, but unfortunately I had to postpone them.

The hotel is on golf course, very quiet with plenty of parking. I was visiting the area with a friend to see a couple of local gardens and we weren't expecting much based on the price. However, we were pleasantly surprised. Although my room overlooked the car park, it was well designed and very comfortable. Staff friendly and helpful and the food surprisingly good. Cannot comment on breakfast as we didn't have it. Would certainly return if in the area again.
The room is stunning! We felt like we'd walked into a film set. The beautiful copper bath really made the stay very special and the huge bed that was very comfy and enjoyed a great night sleep. Can't wait to stay again when the resturant opens downstairs but gave us the opportunity to enjoy a few of the lovely local restaurants Macclesfield has to offer, the picture-drone a few doors down the road was particularly nice.
Fabulous hotel. Restaurant staff went out of their way to accommodate evening meal requests. Breakfast lady was so friendly and made us feel so welcome and special. We loved the appearance of Santa in the restaurant area. Such a memorable stay.
