There are some good coffee shops and there is a market which is interesting. The viaduct is impressive and now is well lit at night. Christmas lights better than Ipswich. The new landscaping around the bus station is very well done with play items for children. The air raid shelter museum very interesting to visit and the Hat museum.

Room very clean and a good size.
Room very clean and a good size. The walk in shower was great ( no clambering into a bath). Staff very friendly and breakfast was help yourself which we find suits us perfectly.
Only downsided was no complimentary biscuits in room and the duvet only just reached the edge of the very nice and comfy King Size bed, so it was a bit drafty at times at night.

I grew up in Stockport and support the towns football team. It's my home town. I know where to go. I love it but it ain't no tourist trap! But, its a great town with good pubs and very friendly local people and it has superb national and local transport links.

It's a place with great potential, and I look forward to revisiting in a year or so. It has changed tremdously since I went to school here, and can only get better. It has such an interesting industrial history that I think it should be on the toursist map on Manchester.
It has an interesting place in the development of rope, being as it was so close to Liverpool, and on the same river, so transport of the product to the port was very easy and cheap. It also has close associations with the silk industry of Macclesfield.

Stockport is a great base for exploring Manchester and the surrounding area. there are regular train links to Manchester and with a car or train you can be soon into the Derbyshire Peak District. The centre of Stockport is about 10 minutes walk from the train station has good pubs, especially The Magnet on Wellington Road and lots to eat around the Market Place. Staircase House Museum on the Market Place is well worth visiting for an insight into the development of a house from mediaeval times to the modern day and there is a free adjoining museum, which gives a history of the town. Vernon and Woodbank Parks offer good walks and the Hat Museum and Underground Air Raid Shelters are on my list to visit next.

The hotel is in an excellent location next to the train station and close to shops and the bus interchange. The staff were very friendly, efficient and helpful. I needed to get an early train and they provided me with an excellent take out breakfast.
Location is very useful for central and old Stockport. There's lots of convenient, cheap parking nearby. Access (including lift) was easy. Nice bathroom and cooking area and reasonable seating. The staff were responsive and worked hard.
We needed somewhere very cheap to stay while our house was a building site. This apartment was excellent value for money, conveniently located near Stockport train station, had a well equipped kitchen and fast WiFi.
Perfect location for where we needed to go to, bed comfy, breakfast superb. Close to a wide range of shops, buses run past hotel and train station 10 minute walk.
Friendly, clean hotel which was ideal for me for a one night stay as I work close by and saves the long drive home when weather conditions are less than ideal.
