Hôtel Plagepalace is located on the beach in Palavas-les-Flots and Carnon. Boasting a 24-hour front desk, this property also provides guests with a 27 metres heated outdoor pool. Me, my wife and our dog stayed here for 2 nights. We sent a message saying we would only arrive around 3 a.m. due to traveling and at around 1 a.m. we got a call from the Hotel asking if everything was ok, if we needed help/support for anything, and if we wanted something to eat once we arrived. I must say this was by far the best service we have ever had (and we stay mainly in 5-star hotels around the world). Once we arrived check-in was super quick to allow us to go to our room and get some sleep. The bedroom was very spacious and the bed was super comfortable. We loved the fact that we actually had 2 different types of pillows on the bed, one soft and one a bit harder. Usually, you get the same type of pillow and if you want something different you have to ask for it. The location is amazing. Just 20 mins by car from Montpellier (that we wanted to visit) and the restaurant (for breakfast, lunch and dinner) faces the beach. It's super quiet and isolation is perfect. During dinner, there's some music but from the bedroom (on the 1st floor) we didn't hear anything. The pool is also facing the beach and super chilled and relaxed. We didn't have the chance to try the breakfast but we had dinner at the restaurant. Must say the food is really good and priced fairly. The restaurant was full of both guests and locals, so that says it all. The beach in front doesn't allow dogs but there's a nearby beach (10 mins by car) which allows. We definitely recommend this hotel for a relaxed stay, near the beach and still near enough from Montpellier. We were absolutely thrilled that we ended up staying here instead of staying in Montpellier Can't thank enough all the staff during our stay, both day and night staff.

Until few weeks ago the village name of St Jean de Ceyrargue was just a place where we chose to use as a base for our vacation time in Languedoc-Roussillon region. Not anymore. After our staying at L’Autre Maison, a wonderful B&B located this tiny village, our hearts melt and the name of this place brings back incredible memories. All this just because we’ve been so lucky to have Annelie et Benoit, the owners of L’Autre Maison, as our hosts. What a wonderful place to stay! We spent nine wonderful days, spoiled by our hosts and enjoying the quiet, peaceful and charming surroundings. L’Autre Maison is conveniently located for visiting Nimes, Uzes, Ales, Montpellier, the National Park of Cevennes, etc. The house itself is nicely decorated, and has all modern amenities. The bedrooms are nice and clean so are the bathrooms. Besides being very helpful hosts, Annelie and Benoit are also great cooks. Every day after a fantastic breakfast prepared by our hosts and followed by a full day visiting the region, we would enjoy the dinners prepared in evening by Annelie and Benoit. The menu did not get repeated once! And it was always delicious! If your intent is to spend some time in the area do not miss this place! Annelie and Benoit will make you want to come again. Montpellier is an excellent place to investigate Languedoc-Roussillon region. The city itself is not big and very beautiful. It has everything what you might need - great food in open air cafes and restaurants, old style narrow streets, modern boutiques, beaches that can be reached by bus or train, convenient public transport system, night life. Montpellier has a good train connection with small medieval fortified cities like Carcassonne, Narbonne, Beziers, Aigues-Mortes, Nimes and even Arles (Provence reqion), where lived and worked the great Dutch painter V. van Gogh. You will always find something to do in Montpellier!
Narbonne is a commune in southern France in the Languedoc-Roussillon region. that is home to huge, important Cathedrale Saint Just et SaintPasteu. (2 Spanish Saints) A spectacular Phoenix from the Ashes the original church was ruined by a fire in 441, after which it took 37 days to demolish those parts of the basilica that had escaped destruction. Then, a Latin basilica was constructed by Bishop Rusticus, who was encouraged in his work by the Gaulish prefect, Marcellus. The basilica was finished on November 29. 445. (I wonder where they found these definite dates – I guess the Romans were super efficient ?) In the days of the Roman Empire, Narbonne was the administrative base for the Roman Army in Galia and there are Roman artefacts on view around the city, including what could be Roman pillars in the centre of the roundabouts on the route out to Narbonne Plage. As my Husbands objective was to cycle from San Malo to Narbonne Plage we also went to the pleasant sandy beach with good washing facilities as you try to leave the sand behind! Lots of free parking.
