Enjoyed the waterfront and the tour of the lagoon ( Etang ) also the Paul Valéry museum and Sete was a good contrast to Beziers and Carcassonne where we had visited previously. All very good but very different.

Sete is a lovely city with lots to see and do.
Sete is a lovely city with lots to see and do. Great restaurants and if you love seafood, this is the place to go. Shopping was decent and the outdoor market was very nice with lots to look at. We took a boat ride on the canals to see the city from the water perspective and that was very fun. We ate at a few of the restaurants along the canal.

The closest cliff side beach is perfect but can be hard to find shade and you might want to mind the tide. The town offers great Italian food options or seafood. It's a great alternative to the more fancy and expensive coast east of Marseille. You're also close to beautiful roadtrip destination and short train to Montpellier for a more hip and vibrant restaurant scene.

Sète is a charming coastal town that offers a perfect blend...
Sète is a charming coastal town that offers a perfect blend of vibrant culture, beautiful scenery, and delicious cuisine. The town is nestled between the Mediterranean Sea and the Étang de Thau, providing stunning waterfront views and plenty of opportunities for leisurely walks along the canals or beaches.
The local seafood is a highlight, with numerous restaurants offering fresh catches of the day. The lively markets and friendly locals add to the town's welcoming atmosphere. The town's unique charm is evident in its colorful buildings, bustling port, and the famous Mont Saint-Clair, which offers breathtaking panoramic views of the region.
Sète is also rich in culture, with several museums, art galleries, and music festivals that celebrate its artistic heritage. The town is easy to navigate, and it's a pleasure to explore on foot.
However, it's worth noting that Sète can get quite busy during the peak summer months, and finding parking can be challenging. Additionally, while the weather is generally lovely, the summer heat can be intense, so be prepared if you visit during a heatwave.
Overall, Sète is a delightful destination that offers something for everyone, whether you're looking to relax by the sea, indulge in local cuisine, or explore the town's cultural offerings. I highly recommend visiting this gem of the French Mediterranean coast.

Nice port town with several beaches nearby.
Nice port town with several beaches nearby. Some really good restaurants in the town, but need to be careful to avoid some of the tourist traps on the waterfront. The Theatre de la Mer is a great place to visit if there happens to be a gig on while you're there. If driving, there are several day trips that are worthwhile taking in Montpellier, Narbonne, Aigues Mortes, Pezenas and many more. If interested in cycling, there are several scenic routes spreading out from the town, including one to Bouziges which includes flamingos on the route!

The staff was very kind and helpful and the hotel itself is close to some of the best beaches in France. Busstops for connectios to the city centre and train station of Sète are closeby, too. If you do not plan to spend time in your hotel room, but to leisure at the beach, this is the perfect hotel for you.
Excellent location near the canals. The staff were friendly, professional and extremely helpful. There is a bar/café in the hotel which is unusual in France. In 35oC heat room was very comfortable with excellent air conditioning. Fridge in the room was a bonus.
A super hotel with great decor. The staff were friendly and helpful. We will most certainly go again. A big thank you to Estelle & Camille for making our stay extra special.
We made a last minute reservation while on a road trip. The hotel was way better than I expected. Super friendly staff, great location, very clean and comfortable room.
We arrived at the hotel on the Bastille Day when some activities were held on the river nearby. There were quite some restaurants and parking slots in the area.
